I know most have already voiced an opinion and I know the results already, and it wont make a difference, but, instead of having to read thru every post lets make it simple for Schon and Cain to see.
Leave your thoughts on why or why not .Remember, it's SHOULD he be. Did he earn it? Was he qualified? NOT should he be now after what was done.

I said "NO" because
of what has transpired. Up
until this past week, I would've
given a resounding
"Fucking Amen! Yes!"
But now that we know how these guys really operate...
They aren't worthy to lick Jeff's post-show jockeys.

Yes, he should be because what happened last week should never have happened. However, as things stand right now I wouldn't want him to go back to work with those assholes anymore than I want Perry to, or Jeremey either for that matter. If any of the three of them were to do so though, I would support him for his sake.

I voted no for obvious reasons...he was great with them, but they screwed up big time and its their loss...Jeff will go on to do great things and they will be kicking themselves in their collective asses in the near future...

They are the scum of the earth!

I voted yes. I don't think he should go back and save their collective asses again; he should have remained lead singer.

What Jeff brought to Journey was new energy. The excitement was back as was the promise/hope of new material. There was no doubt that the band was refreshed and vibrant with Jeff. I truly believe that the collaborative efforts of Soto/Cain/Schon would have proven to be worthy of the Journey name. Jeff brought his own style and voice while respecting the music/legacy.

On a personal level, I am so terribly disappointed in the actions of the band. The way they handled the firing of Jeff is nothing short of actions carried out by the lowest forms of life, completely inhumane. Cain's statement of wanting to move in a different direction sonically and honor the legacy, blah, blah, blah... is an insult to all of us. First off, what a lame thing to say, so fickle since it was a mere 6 months ago that they were talking of the excitement, new music, etc.... If the band was so concernd with their legacy well I'm not going into that... As far as sonicsally different, WTF?? As if Jeff had the power to lead Cain and Schon wherever the hell he wanted, please. It is clear that Jeff respected the brilliance that was before him. He respects the fans. He was the one to bring out the gems and provide the fans their money's worth at each show. Hearing Winds of March sent chills down my spine. He is a powerful emotive vocalist, something the discussed contenders do not have. Journey has made their last mistake in my book as I'm done supporting this band. It's been a fun 29 years.
Until we meet again, may God

Even though I support the band on a go forward basis, that statement by Cain is not geling and ergo is not jello.
Things I'd heard about the writing process for what was to be at that time the next Journey album (from a guy I think you know a little bit ) were extremely positive and the demos seemed to be pouring forth.

I voted "no." Seriously, here's the deal.

Jeff is hurt because of one point.

All Jeff wants to know is why? Why was he let go?

We both agree, that we wouldn't be pissed at Journey at all, if they just told him, we don't think the sound is what we are after.

Jeff would be fine with that. But of course he wasn't told anything. Hell, they couldn't even lob the guy a phone call. That is what I am pissed about. I am not pissed at Neal for making the decision. While I think the decision is shit, it is his band, and I wouldn't run him down for that. I just wanted Neal to be a man and tell Jeff "why."

anyway.......I've been thinking a lot since last night (Dangerous I know  )

Although I think whats gone down is under handed, I hope Jeff doesn't go public with whats gone on, perhaps a brief press release without any mud slinging. He'll be know as a troublesome dude if he does and that's the exact opposite of what he is....if I read between the lines correctly.

I've also decided Journey need to be given a break, in all walks of life we fuck up, things we shouldn't have done and things perhaps we should have done. Neal and Jon are no different than the rest of us. They have issues to deal with and lets face it...that's none of our business as is Perry's will he or won't he position. I'd like to thank Journey for all they've done in the past, wish them well in the future (not with my support unfortunately) but I hold no ill feelin' towards any of them. The Journey name is bigger than any individual and that name shouldn't be dragged down.

I've no worries over what Jeff will do.......there's a lifetime of great music ahead. Okay! We'll never get to hear his song writing contribution within Journey but I'm sure whatever he had in mind will surface on a solo album and I don't see why that shouldn't happen in 2008.

If Perry does surface next year, that will be a complete bonus something to look forward to.....I hope it's with Journey but any solo project would be received with just as much excitement.

Life's too short and bickering only raises the blood pressure.

For all of you who can't move on buy the REO CD it's absoloutely fuckin' fantastic and shows just how a band can bounce back. There's always hope

I don't think JSS is a mud slinging type of guy to be honest.
Maybe Journey should be given a break from all the high anxiety of what people think, but in no way should they be let to forget what they have done, and not just once...it's not good business practice, that's the bottom line. :(
JSS has done some brilliant stuff in the past with Talisman, Takara,Eyes,SkrapMettle,SoulSirkus JeffScott Soto Band,&Icould go on... and he will continue to. :)

Irrelevant as it is, there is a certain dress code MR bands should adhere to, image is a very important part when it comes down to it. Augeri's red leathers and Cronin's black ones fit this music well.. best dressed frontman by far is Tommy Shaw,(Aerosmith also know how to dress up) worst dressed,....well that's open for discussion.

Well Is uppose that's fair comment, but for me if I go to see a band its for the music not what they are wearing. they could stand up there wearing nothing but fig leaves , as long as they play good music :) . Mind you on the numerous DVD's of various band we have at home it just seems to be a case of where what you feel comfortable in, Footie shirts, Jeans T-shirts, Leathers.. allsorts of stuff. Look at Phil Lynott in the old LIZZY days he always looked liked a real heavy to me :)

Voted yes. I love Journey songs and I loved Jeff singing them. Never thought I'd want to get deeply interested in the band, besides knowing the hits and a few viewings of their Behind The Music, but after Jeff was named lead singer I just had join the following. Now, they have made me jump back into the casual fan 'pool'
