Guys... seriously. Any reasonable person should draw one of two conclusions:

1- They're revamping the website, or-

2- Somone hacked the site and they're dealing with it.

My guess is they're simply revamping and took down the old one in the mean time.

I'm reasonable - my take is simply that they know they mucked up and are trying to rework the news AND history.

Here's my problem. I was with the band in October 06. Not much more than 6 months ago. The electricity was in the air....the fans were excited....ALL the band spoke of Jeff as a crusader, a champion.
My interviews and write up portrayed the energy and excitement....I even talked at length with Mr. Schon's step dad, who himself was excited beyond belief and was suggesting the band hadn't had this much energy since Perry led 80s.

Then months later it is all over, with Mr. Soto delivered the news by a singer for another popular 80s rock band in SWEDEN no less. No face to face 'sorry it isn't going to work out'...no airing of differences to see whether a bridge could be built, no second chance for a singer who bailed the band out of some deep shit only months earlier.

Everyone that jumped on board this new line-up are left hanging in the wind...the press that gave the band some of their best reviews in years are left looking like tools for allowing themselves to be excited by the possibilities.

And me...I was there to capture the magic. Or was it...I'm disillusioned...I'm saddened...was it all lies....was it all for the sake of saving the tour...what was it?
Hours and hours of work put into a massive Journey feature - pointless. Useless. Irrelevant.

Journey and this site have been side by side for years. I love this band. I loved the members. I allow fans a place to speak their minds and at times get crucified for doing so...is it all worth it?

Basically it's a knee jerk reaction to the amount of disapproval they have received over the last few days. I think it's a case of that thing little children do, you know the one were they put their hands over their eyes and truly belive that no one can see them standing there. I agree with Uncle Hefty. I think this site revamp is simply down due to the likes of high profile figures like Brian May being discusted at the removal of Jeff's bio details and image, as if he never existed. I'm sure all they are going to do is put that right. Also, they are always so slow at doing anything, it will probably take their webmaster ages to replace pictures etc. Their new site will either have NO picture of a lead singer or they will announce a new one, which is another eason for the site being down. It takes months to redesign a site, so if it is all new, it will just add to the fact that this was all pre-meditated and their plan all along!

I understand your frustration.I really appreciate you giving us a honest place to talk about our "favorite band" which Im not so sure about anymore.My feeling towards the band changed when things went down with Steve A,but this really topped it off. I look at this way from now on. The band is a fucking business,nothing more, nothing less, and not a very good business at that.Ill enjoy the music,but could give a shit about the band personally anymore.What they cant take away is the good times Ive had,and the freinds Ive made through Journey. Your effort has not been wasted on the band, people here have talked and met with each other who otherwise wouldnt have if you didnt have this site available. I found out from Cj herself what the new splash screen represents...
Nothing much, actually...
The year 1975 refers to Journey's begininng
and if you have the time to stare at that splash screen
for a few hours, it will play thru ALL the Journey albums right up to
Generations. Basically, the site is getting a MAJOR face-lift...

I just wonder if the Forums will re-open and, if so, will it be a clean slate
or will stuff prior to 12 June still be visible?

I have to take issue with Mr. Load....we have been taught by the band over the past 30 years that we are what they are all about. Faithfully? Why Can't This Night Gone on Forever? There has always been a percieved love affair between the band and its fans. If you don't see that then you've not been tuned in long enought.

Whether its was a creation of the Herbie PR machine or how the band genuinely felt about its fans I don't know now. It's painfully obvious the Band has lost its way when it comes to the fans. Unfortunately for the band - they have to have the fans or there is no more $$$$.

And whoever is managing them and their public relations has absolutely NO CLUE what this band meant to the fans. Without the fans...these guys are sitting at home diddling their instruments.

So Mr. Load...you get a clue. They made it about the fans and now they've ruined it.
