By the end of next week Sammy Hagar will have taken his phot for the all new Journey website.

Look for them to start writing and recording by late July.

They will have a major label secured by Sept. 1

It's getting closer to a Sammy Hagar led Journey.

Mark it down!!!!!

Sammy Hagar in Journey? Yeah, that would really make them sound like those "65 million units", wouldn't it?

Neil DOESNT want to sound like those 65 million units sold. He wants a NEW Journey.

Shit have you listened to Generations?? Ross, Neil & Jonathan really sound like Classic Journey dont they????

Screw what Jonathan the Paino Man says it's Neils band and if Jonathan doesnt want Sammy than I guarantee you Jonathan is waaayyyyy out the door.

Again, log on to www.jeffscottsoto.com and go to the Press & Reviews section then read all of Neils articles.

Sammy Hagar will be the next lead singer of Journey. They will be a faaaarrrrr more guitar driven Journey. Sammy will allow them to garner a MAJOR lable. They will hit BIG again with Sammy at the helm. This will allow Journey to reach the R&R Hall Of Fame. Sammy will now go in with two different groups.

This all will happen, and was Neils plan all along. Business sense wise hes GOOD!

Sammy is a SUPERB vocalist, but would have ZERO shot of ever pulling off Journey's catalogue of music!!!!!!! In case you haven't noticed yet, Journey's catalogue of music seems to chew up every lead singer that takes it on!

John from Boston

Sammy's getting up there in age now...but as far as physically being able to sing any Journey song and just actually hit the notes....I'd say he could do it just fine...probably better than Perry himself could at this point. (mainly because Sammy has really never stopped singing and exercising his voice...stayed in singing shape)

But the difference would be the TONE. Sammy in his prime could easily hit any note Steve Perry ever hit...maybe higher. (see the end of "5150")

But it would sound like Sammy Hagar singing Journey....Sammy's voice is just different...not as smooth sounding. Lots of guys can sing the same notes but don't sound the same. That would be the case here.

Although I think Sammy playing with Journey would make for a VERY interesting potential set list.

When the band releases their new CD with Sammy at the helm (approximate date late Sept 2007), and starts their tour (late fall 2007) their set list will be close to the following:

5 songs - New Material
5 songs - Van Halen
2 songs - Sammy Solo
10 songs - Classic Journey - Dean will sing lead on 4 of those songs

It's gonna happen, and everyday it gets closer..............................................................

Hmm, I love Sammy and had heard this rumor from a friend before Jeff started with the band. I had forgotten about it, since I was soooo excited with Jeff singing. If this is the case, and Jeff got truly dicked over just to keep a secret, that is soooo wrong!!!

I guess that we will all have to wait and see??? I honestly hope that Neal Schon would have something better up his little sleeves then another Perry wannabe. That would make atleast more sense to me??? "As The Journey Turns" those were the days of our lives......

Jeff is a true winner here!!! He got tons of exposure, and acquired many more fans that are looking forward to seeing him on stage again!!!

Unfortunately, Journey's name has been tarnished again to the dedicated fans who have spent tons of money and time supporting them:(

Take care all:)

Would never happen. Nothing against Sammy, but he couldn't pull off the Journey vocals and he's a damn good vocalist as it is. Supposedly Cain and Schon were jealous of JSS's energy, what would they do when Sammy is sitting on stage signing autographs and missing a few notes here and there

go back to the solar system you were expelled from we dont want you here If they wanted to writer new music they would have kept jeff friga and schon just want to tour playing tryiong to build their legacy as was quoted recently.

Sammy will never front this band nor would anyone want to with a 50 mile pole nor do I blame them and their will certainly never be any new music this band is toast already

for what's it worth, i saw the recent VH concert and Sammy was definitely not up to vocal par....still okay, but not close to what he was like with VH 10 years ago. If he can't handle the VH songs, how the heck would he even attempt the Journey catalog?

Sammy just finished his photo session for Journey!

It is ABOUT to happen!!!!

Has anyone ever been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame twice with two different groups??

I am sure Sammy figures that it will take 2 platinum CD's plus around 4 hit singles for this to happen. The major label that he will help Neal and the boyz garner should help with this.

Neal will love the props that come his way when Sammy states over & over that he is the GREATEST guitar player that he has ever played with.

Finally, Dean will love singing the 4 slower Steve Perry ballads at the live shows.

You still haven't explained how this fits in with Jonathan's comment about wanting to sound like the "65 million units" that are out there. Sammy sounds even less like those units than Jeff did.

Dave,

Read Neals comments in the Press & Reviews section at www.jeffscottsoto.com Neal wants new music. If Jonathan doesnt like it, Neal will tell him to piss off.

All Jonathan wanted from the get go was a recording contract for his wife anyhow. Herbie will tell you that. This Journey ride has probably lasted tooooo long for him anyway. He has milked it as much as he can. He has worn out his welcome.

With Sammy on board they will add another strong guitar. Greg is waiting in the wings if they want any new keyboard driven sound, plus he will do just fine live with the old keyboard material.

Add to this the fact that Dean will sing the Steve Perry ballads live.

Its all right in front of your noses.

This will happen. And it is almost a day closer to it happening.
