It's different in that Jeff did not make the details of the sessions public knowledge.

Do you mean that Jeff told someone off the record and they leaked it to this board?

It was offline stuff not the stuff he posted online.

I've never seen any earthshaking dirt on here since Jeff came on board regardless of what Jeff said to others. Recording session info? Big deal. Besides, Jeff already answered and said NO WAY has he talked about any band members personal dirt that could get him in trouble.

Ok.
Send Schon/Cain the memo that you decide what's earthshaking, though. Jeff too.

I've sat with Jeff many times when he was being interviewed and even when he was 'off the record' and I never heard him bad-mouth the band or its members, in fact quite the opposite, he often more effusive about the positive qualities and the long-term future of a band that comprised many of his heroic memories.

Despite the fact that he probably has cause to be bitter, he is not twisted and always stuck by the 'What happens in Las Vegas...'

In fact, after the event and being told he wasn't wanted on the voyage, he was at pains to congratulate Jeremey and to wish him well. His angst isn't that he lost the gig of his dreams, but the way in which it was done.

"Woe, woe, beware the Ides of March, for they are upon us..." Shakespeare had a way with words and if this had happened at the end of the Uk leg it would have been so prophetic, as it is its simply pathetic.

It's easy to stick the knife in someone whom you know has too much integrity and class to retaliate in kind.

Deb,

Who are you suggesting he was "partying" and "getting tanked" with? If it's who I think you're talking about, you are not only wrong, but your statements are damaging and should be retracted. But, on the other hand...since when did rockstars not attend parties after their shows and interact with their fans? Well, unless they're crotchety old men, that is...

Yea, who said Jeff was getting drunk at the Annex parties?

Come on with that.

You keep digging a puddle and now it's a crater.

Jeff has partied with many of us. So? The entire band knew and the entire band was invited. Big deal?

I have partied with Neal, and Ross and others. Big deal?

As for babbling, Jeff doesn't babble. Neal babbled and while I will say Neal has a big mouth, I loved partying with the guy and loved that he spoke his mind. I have no plans to go after any of these guys personally. That to me is a "Guys code" and whatever they did with me will never be told. Beating them down about a poor decision is one thing, but you will never see me attack them personally or let out secrets. That's bullshit as we all have skeletons.

Keep it up Deb.

PS, Jeremey has gotten tanked too I believe, with the east coast people here.

So answer me this. What the Hell is your problem?

PPS- You all need to stop speculating, especially in this thread. Neal and Ross and Jeff all like to party. They were all a blast to party with. Let's move on.

I believe you all have misinterpreted what I said. I was not making any accusations or saying that is what happened. I was merely saying that I didn't think Jeff's online interaction with the fans would have been and issue and was merely saying that his personal interaction with the fans might have been the problem. I was not inferring that Jeff does that, only suggesting that might be an issue if he did.

I apologize that I did not get my point across very well. I'm sorry if you misunderstood what I was saying. I have not said anything derogatory about Jeff in the past and have no reason to now. I believe he should be shown the same respect that Jeremey should get.

Trust me, all the boys in the band interact personally with the fans. To suggest it is the reason Jeff was fired is absurd. Seems the sonically different direction, aka afraid to move forward, is better suited to these cowards.
Until we meet again, may God

Why would anyone (Journey INC) care if Jeff interacted with fans here? Isn't that a good thing? His personality brought alot of fans and $$ to Journey.. Me for one. Geeze if this is one of the reasons for Jeffs departure, then its such 2nd grade BS.. What Jeff did on his own time, should be his business.. Never, in any thread, have I ever seen a bad thing written by Jeff regarding Journey or its members.
Keep Rocking the World Jeff!

Didn't Jeff make some statements after the demise of Soul Sirkus that had Neal or management upset? I can't quite remember exactly, but I know Jeff made additional statements that changed his original remarks. I think it had something to do with managment not really wanting Soul Sirkus to succeed, and being very "unhelpful" with that band. Someone was pretty upset because he had to change what he originally said.

Also, didn't Jeff publicly deny being friends with Deano? Since they are friends, why did someone make him say he wasn't?

Maybe there is some truth in the rumour that management doesn't like Jeff's interaction with fans and his public statements. Maybe they think he says too much.....not the Journey way.

I guess since none of Journey's actions in the last week have made any sense, I keep reaching for straws trying to explain some of this. I still can't quite believe they have done this and feel that there must be some reason...........something, anything. "A new direction sonically" just doesn't cut it.

No it certainly doesn't.

The only reason that could have anything to do with fan interaction(if that was the issue, and I think it was) would have to be that Neal and Jon want to be considered rock stars of a caliber that is above personally interacting in a friendly manner with their fans. Heaven forbid that their frontman should mingle with the riff raff that buys the CDs and tickets and therefore become more popular with them.
