With all the turmoil going on in the world (inside and outside of Journey), I thought I'd ease your pain with a few words from John Travolta.

Like we're really supposed to give a rat's ass what he or any of these other self-absorbed celebrities think?

Don't agree with his opinion, but do agree with what he said about GIVING an opinion. There are right ways and wrong ways. He is certainly entitled to his opinion, as is Cruise, but the latter seemed to think his should be taken as absolute truth because he is who he is.

I am going to go way off the forum topic here, but not to far off this subject matter. While I may not totally agree with how things were done and said on both their parts, all I can think of when I think back to Tom's rant about 'drugs' , is now me.
First off, I am not one to shove this sort of stuff in anyone's face or to usually get this personal, but I can speak from true honest experience on some stuff.
Also I am not a total health nut nor do I live like a freaky hippy life that one may first think of when they here the words 'herbal medicines.

I have been in and out of the hospital for the past two years with two very major operations.
Then like now, I can basically be bed ridden for awhile. These reasons are why sometimes I will post like crazy, then not post at all for awhile.
OK, back to point. When you are in the hospital and/or having surgery that you must have, you don't have a lot to say about what they must give you to put you out for surgery, or what they must put you on to try and save your life. When you are checked in with a super high fever, super low red blood count, super high white count, super low blood pressure, and UT test comng back bad, you have to go on the antibiotics. Well, I never really knew that these also kill the good 'biotics' in our body.

I was once put on a drug that was supposed to super kill a infection, but it also made me feel weird, and not just different weird you would expect from being on a new drug. So, I went online and started to do research and patient comments on this drug. I was fuckin' blown away and scared to death. I ordered my doctor go give me something else. This was just a few people commenting on bad side affects. This was hundereds of people talking about permanant damage and some deaths from being on this drug.
I am really sorry for the rant here, but I am blown away that the FDA will approve drugs like this, but won't approve some herbal medicines.
While I am very happy with my team of doctors, I am blown away at the freedom that doctors have to write whatever prescription they see fitting.

Without getting all trippy, what I wanted to talk about is herbal medicine. Having the time to do some SERIOUS reading and comments on certain herbs, I decided to try some things for some of my minor troubles. I have been able to go off of three of the things I was on and treat some things with herbal medicines with NO SIDE AFFECTS AT ALL.
None of what I have been going through had anything to do with how I was living, but even though I thought I took care of myself pretty well, I'm blown away at how some simple herbs can do so much.

For the sake of what this site is and not wanting to make any claims about naming prescription drugs or specific herbs, I will not go there.
I just wanted to bring this up because if there is anyone out there going through anything, in anyway like this, there is hope.
Sometimes I chuckle to even be talking like this, but it's true.

I have also quit taking ANYTHING over the counter. NADA. Again, after tons or reading, reviews, opinions, etc...I tried, slowly, one thing at a time and so many of the milder things I was going through as a result of the bigger problems are getting so much better.
I am now not on any prescriptions or OTC medications at all. Everything is herbal.
What can be crazy about OTC and prescriptions is that they can just add to the problem or cause other future problems.
Sorry for the rant, but I have a lot of time right now.

Granted, I know that some of the typical things they put me on in the hosptal, I had to be on. I don't know enough to get into what can be done to be put on less of the horrible side affect stuff that you have to be put on when you are in the hospital for serious stuff, but when it's in my control, I will do what I can to rid my body of that crap, and be on healtheir stuff too also treat some of the less life threatening things. Not everyone can or should just go off their meds and go herbal. At this point, I am basically able to. Not only am I getting so healthy again and recovering wonderfully, but getting off the OTC stuff has been great too.
OTC crap can even screw with things that may not even show up until much later.

Here's to good health for anyone. I would never wish bad health on ANYONE!

Now that's funny..... :P What's even more ironic about bringing him into my story is that I cannot stand that guy.
Seriously, just trying to protect Andrew's site. This shit can cause big trouble.

I have never had to deal with high blood pressure, when things got really bad, mine was always dangerously to low.
I also believe that doing a herbal cleanse/detox/probiotics in between all the medication i was on and trying the herbal stuff, is what also made a difference in my body and my body accepting the herbal medicines.

I also believe that sometimes it wasn't just ONE herb that cured ONE thing. As I mentioned, it was starting with a herbal cleanse/detox/and getting the good probiotics back in my system.
Then I started taking some general overall good freeze dried healthy vegetable/fruit products that were super high in anti-oxidants. I believe it was a matter agian of doing so much research and reading reviews from people who were using them, not just butt head opinions.
Basically I got my body rid of all the crap before trying alternative things for like my allergies.
I believe between the detox, using a number of really good general things that one should be on everyday and then finding what I felt was the best thing/brand to try is what worked.
I also made changes to my diet. My diet wasn't bad, but I made it super good.
In conclusion.. :) , I don't think it's as easy as saying there's a MIRACLE CURE.
Its about doing many things over time...now I really sond like a f'n infomercial.

As I mentioned, I have had never had to deal with high blood pressure and I have really only looked up what my needs were.
I can lead you to the the two cheapest online stores for buying herbs and say just Google like 'high blood pressure herbs', do some research and ask your doctor. Seriously, ask your doctor before going off of any serious medications. Not all of them are bad.

Here's a quoate that really struck me, and yes a lot of things can be family related.

"There are many well known natural remedies for high blood pressure or hypertension.

Conventional medicines usually treat the symptoms of high blood pressure, but seldom address the underlying causes.

Naturopaths recognize that high blood pressure may be a sign or symptom of imbalance in the body. They believe in removing the causes of high blood pressure with a combination of lifestyle changes and natural remedies, rather than simply treating the symptoms."

So true for me and what I have come to believe. IF possible, treat the problems causing the trouble, don't just mask them or cause further damage.
