what do you think of the first three journey albums?

i think the first three journey albums are ok.they didn't have steve yet.my favorite of the three would have to be NEXT.thats a very underrated album.

Terrific rock records.

I look at the first record through ROR as 1 seamless period (maybe broken up into 3 subs).

i like them a lot even w/ out the Perry vox.....major period pieces.

The self-titled debut is far and away my favorite Journey album. I listen to it at least once a day. No lie.

The other two were fantastic too, but a cut below the debut. I'd still rate 'em above "Evolution" and "Departure," though.

Highly underrated pieces of art.

Considering your screen name, that's no surprise. The debut should be considered one of the better prog rock albums to come out of that timeframe. It is in desperate need of remastering, though. Those tunes would sound fantastic if they were polished up a bit.

Yeah, but the first three albums still sound better than Generations.

The debut is my favorite of the three, but I made a revised copy and stuck Look Into The Future on the end. That song is epic.

And so do I, except sonically they are pretty bad sounding. Especially the first album. Time to bring them up to todays standard through a remix and remaster.
