I will not buy a Journey CD or concert ticket (not that I've ever paid for either in the past); I came here for Jeff, and I'm leaving with him...I'll be 3 boards down.

Neal doesn't get any more of my money. It would take Perry to get me to go back to a concert, and we all know that ain't happening.

The question is, why in god's name would I want to give him my money? I'd rather plug in my DVD, and remember it when it was fantastic, before it became the corrupt, decaying disaster it is today. What's gone is gone.

I can't, in good conscience, support Journey going forward - even if the world was at an end and SP wanted to have one last go at it. I loved the voice and the magic they all created together - but let's face it folks, the magic is over ... even if SP came back, it would never be the same.

I wish Jeremey all the luck in the world if he gets this gig - Lord knows, he'll need a lot of luck just to protect himself - but I can't say that I'll be contributing to his paycheck. I mean no offense to him, but I do hope I offend the rest of those jokers that have taken a once proud band and turned it into a hotbed of lies, deception, and cowardice.

No more Journey for me (and others, I would believe)... though I doubt that they'll even care - and that, my friends, is the saddest part of all.
Peace ~
Greg

That's what I don't understand about all of this. Why does hiring a tribute band singer mean that they won't create any new music? And the "well they would have created new music with JSS, and if he's not there that MUST mean there will never be any new Journey music" argument doesn't work. Yes, there would have been new music with JSS but that doesn't automatically mean that since he's no longer there, Journey is mailing it in from a songwriting standpoint.

Unless they reunited w/Perry (which is out of the question) or Jeff accepted a reversal of their asshole move of ditching him (also out of the question),,, Journey is dead to me... I'm done... so done...

Thats judging boy, and intolerable.
Consider the fact that you don't know everything about everyone like you so casually assume and go away.

So, what you are saying is that none of us can judge NS, JC, or JSS, because we can't assume that we know what they think & feel.
Sure are a lot of people on this forum that assume to know everything about everyone in Journey, and are making judgements constantly. Isn't that intolerable?
Do we really know what the guys think and feel?

Please don't quote press releases and interviews.
We all know that's just a bunch of crafted & coated BS.

later~

Good point. Some people make assumptions about those guys and they don't know anything beyond what they're told by a press release or a loony poster or two.

If you're attacking me personally for doing that, I'd ask you if you know me and how I'm involved in the situation. Then when you tell me you don't, because you most certainly do not, I'd kindly ask you to point your frustration elsewhere.

Nope...not attacking you at all. Don't know you...probably won't ever.

I just think there's quite an entertainment factor in the irony.
A lot of people here seem to assume they know whats really going on with Schon & Cain (and Azoff).
And most people here seem to have judged them all accordingly.
Fact is, 99% of us really don't know squat other than hearsay & rumour. And we probably won't know squat for years to come.
Shouldn't all this assuming & judging be deemed intolerable too?
Just food for thot...

I guess my wife will drag me there to see them next time. She doesn't care about any of this crap. She says as long as they play the songs and sound good she's going.

I can tell you this. I will NOT be spreading any word about how great Journey was like I used to. I told every one I can think of how SMOKIN Journey was with JSS. Now I don't care one bit.

Ok, just my 2 cents here....

No- as it stands now- I will not go to any more Journey concerts. I hadn't since SA's first tour, and had only caught them this time because of the double bill with DL. SA just didn't do it for me- no offense meant to him or those who liked him!

Jeff "revitalized" the band I had loved back in the '80's. The "spark/fire/rock" was back, and I was thrilled. But with what they did to him- Sorry, can't go there. Can't support that kind of treatment of ANYONE!

Will I buy a CD- no, probably not. Even if it's good, I can't support jerks.

Why have I not said "never"? Because I've used that word before and lived to regret it :? But as it stands now- NO F*CKING WAY!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

Here's the thing...

All of us were brought together by one of 2 things: our love of Journey, or our love of Jeff Scott Soto. For some these 2 had merged. Now one of the 2 is gone, and it casts a negative light on the other.

Many of us have become friends due to, and yet in spite of Journey. We have discovered that we do not need Journey to maintain those friendships. Therefore, it doesn't really matter at this point whether Journey is the central focus of our existence here. If some of us never attend another Journey show again, the world will not end. We can continue to support JSS in his endeavors, and we can continue to plan the adventures like those that we have previously enjoyed. A perfect example is the MR event planned for October.

If you're not part of it, you may not be able to understand it. The show will go on, for us and for Journey. Whether the two will be related to each other again remains to be seen.

Not necessarily, some of us here have worked with the band, one of the members, known them, etc.
Not to say that means we know everything going on, but don't take for granted that our anger and comments are justified.

And that's your typical "Greatest Hits Fan," which is why if Journey tours again, they will pack the stands as usual. True, many of you won't go to a Journey concert ever again. Believe me, it won't put a dent in their attendance. It's just the way it is....it's all about the music. That's why these tribute bands do so well.

We know that. Its not at all about thinking or even trying to put them out of business. Its moreso about doing what we think is right. Whether or not they play a full house or not is not the issue, its the fact that now they're going out with a fizzle, and have lost a great deal of respect and dignity. I guess its about justice, MR style.

I know that you won't see my happy butt at another Journey show, unless The Man himself (SP) comes back, or if JSS was still fronting the band. There's no way in hell now that I will ever buy another Journey CD, or even step into a parking lot where they play now.

JSS sparked new life into a band I once loved...now that spark is gone.
