Uh, I have this new CD, and would definitely NOT say it's a good thing. The single they released has to be one of the most bland, boring songs of all time.

Unless country music is even worse than I imagined, I can't see the country music fans liking this album either.

Maybe the album will grow on me, but when an album is really good, I usually don't have to say that. :(

As much as this is splitting hairsm I don't think BJ is coming back to rock...they're going country and staying there...

Also, to the OP....I simply wouldn't include the Eagles OR Tom Petty in any reference to Melodic Rock...they aren't at all representative of this format, never were, never will be.

agree about Eagles and Petty. Country Rock at best. The Eagles even have said that for many years.

I have the album as well. There are a few 'good' album cuts that could make a small dent on country pop radio, but beyond that, I largely agree with this. However, recent interviews with Jon suggest he's desperate to get into Country for good and get away from Rock asap.

You just never hear of artists crossing over in that direction.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
