I met him a few months back. I asked one Journey question during a 10 minute conversation (about his playing style on Dream After Dream no less) and he showed almost zero interest in going there. I've heard from others who have gotten the same reaction from him when Journey is mentioned.
He'd be in for a reunion tour, trust me. The zero interest you encountered might be due to the fact that the TBF tour that never happened left his bank account somewhere between 10 and 20 million dollars short.
I'd bet my house that you'll never see him behind a Journey drum kit again.
Is it a very nice house? Hopefully it is on the water.

Yep, great house! Swimming pools, movie stars, all that shit.
But I was thinking...I could see Aynsley Dunbar playing for them again at some point (if they were to bring back a former member, that is). Although it's been almost 30 years and countless other bands since he's left, he's still been in the same rock genre. Dude's a fucking machine on the skins too. Smith is 100% jazz/fusion these days. It would be a yawnfest for him to play Separate Ways for the umpteenth time again.
