About Rich's eyepatch.....Do you know the what and when?

I believe he lost his eye as a teenager in an accident with a firecracker or some such thing. He used to have a glass eye but just wears the patch now. He's a super nice guy. I have a t-shirt from the "Always Never the Same" tour with his signature, along with Robby's and Billy's.

Yeah....although Phil seems to be the businessman of the grooup....Rich seems to be the smartest. When Steve talks, you can definitely see the effects of the substance abuse.....

Steve Walsh’s new work and Native Window (Ehart, Greer, Ragsdale, Williams). Why don’t they just work on a new Kansas record? I don’t think these works are going to get much attention outside of the hardcore fan base so why not do something with the Kansas name on it? I am a hardcore and I still haven’t gotten around to listening to the two new tracks Steve Walsh has released.

Other than Proto-Kaw and a few other things with Kerry Livgren, I don't really keep very close tabs on other projects by the guys in Kansas.

Steve sounds quite good now actually....not early 80's soaring but still quite good

I'm a little bummed that it seemed like they might take off on some new material after Rags came back but it's still the same old touring thing....and now the other members are going off to do their own thing on the side

I'm a huge Kansas fan but if you think Journey is rooted in the 'dirty dozen', Kansas is right there too

I'm not sure I would go that far either. I interviewed him a couple weeks ago and I didn't even air it. He was rather dull and boring too!

I do wish they would add “Hold On” to their sets, also “Play The Game Tonight” and “Fight Fire With Fire” but I can understand while they omit these.

When they were here a couple weeks ago, they DID play "Hold On" FINALLY after an hour of...whatever.

The two new songs from Steve Walsh are pretty good. A little more straightforward rock and a bit less experimental than some of the stuff off his last album, Shadowman (which is worth picking up if you're a Walsh fan). He sounds good on both tracks, too.

Haven't heard too much about the project with the other guys but I don't think a new Kansas album is going to happen without Livgren writing the material. Since he seems to be happy with Proto-Kaw, that seems unlikely.

Yeah, if you're a big fan of Prog, then I think it was also their best album in quite a few years. My two favorites from the album are Icarus II and "The Coming Dawn."

Both great tunes. My favorite on that album is "Distant Vision". "Skin Tight Disappearing Blues" is really the only song I don't like. The intro to that tune is good, though.

I had given up hope that the original members would ever record together again long before STE came out...and was amazed that (basically) nothing had been lost. Yeah, he's got more grit to his voice now, though I haven't heard him sing anything new over the last few years, since "Defying Gravity" anyway. That being said, he sang some of those old Kansas tunes as well as Walsh did while he was in the band.

Windows of Heaven is a great album in my opinion! There were some great moments on Corridors. I like Treasure of Heaven and Where Does Our Love Go? Defying Gravity was ok....If You Just Believe and the title track are my two favorite ones from the album. I didn't get into Kansas until the very late 80's. My brother had a greatest hits tape and I took it and gave it a listen. Of course the two major songs, Dust and Wayward Son were the ones that got me hooked, but I soon got to where I liked all the songs from the GHs and then I started going out and purchasing the discography. Someone even gave me a VHS of a Kansas concert with Elefante as lead vocals. I thought that was pretty cool.

I haven't heard it lately, but they should play it! It was their best song off of the Power album in my opinion. The live version from the King Biscuit album was pretty good! It's funny, but in the part where the song says, "It's not so strange, for us to change" Walsh sings, "It's not so strange, for "Dust" to change." Thought that was interesting.

Yeah Secret Service was kind of stupid. I had forgotten about Silhouettes in Disguise. I don't know why, but I always liked Tomb 19. It kind of gave me that Indiana Jones type of feeling.
