obvious silent support for Steve A......

Postby ohsosoto » Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:58 pm

put someone up that can hold their own, but doesn't "SOUND" like steve p, and the band freaks. do they think that they can't survive without a "perry" soundin voice? imo, the band goes along with steve a until deano makes public, then they bail and pull in JSS. now, that they think they have found a steve p sounda a like, they pitch the best singer ever for the band.

JSS was hardly "the best singer ever for the band." Pull your head out of your ass.

But St John, at least Jeff was a real musician/writer and could hold a crowd. He just wasn't a Perry sound alike, but could actually sing. I like his Queen songs, too. BYW I am a bigtime Perry fan, so he had a huge job to do to interest me.

I CAN'T sing, but a dude named Steve Perry COULD. You said they pitched "the best singer ever for the band." That is simply a stupid fuckin' statement.

Gotcha. You should have simply said that Jeff was the best willing and available person for the job. Your use of the word "ever" irritated me.

You are actually saying Journey supported Augeri by firing JSS?

They didn't support either one. Both JSS and Augeri supported Journey, and their ex-wives, and their kids, and their other money spending habits.

I agree.

I REALLY like Soul Sirkus. I've listened to JSS' solo stuff (great shit), and he SHINES on the Rock Star ST, but he didn't cut it on the Journey gig.

He's a GREAT singer, but far from "the best ever for the band".

If I was Neal or Frig, I would've called Chalfant first, THEN Augeri and THEN exploit Deen 'til he blew up a la Dickinson on Live After Death. :)

So much for a first post :|
