But that was a while ago......Deano i never liked you at first - didnt like your confrontational style. However, i was wrong, i admire your stance and honesty. Maybe the band could do with some of that? The Scotch (as you guys call it) is on me if u are ever in Sotland. PS. If i were Jeff right now - i would call up Perry, Steve Smith, Rolie,Bryan May, and Tony Levin and knock out a killer "supergroup" album......

This is getting worse by the hour, it's getting a Journeyholics Anonymous forum here...people now start to like rude and agressive people, what is the world coming to.

Except - i'm not being remotely annonymous. Deano may cuss a little (most adult males do) but having carefully read his blog and other people on here, i can saying nothing bad about what he says. This band had a genuine shot at going a long way back up the ladder - and totally screwed up. Plus, he shows he CARES deeply about what is going on - i can relate to that.

I'm with ya on that one! That would be killer! Doubt that Rollie would want to work with Perry though...don't think they had the best of relationships, but that would be awesome. Kind of like Journey's version of "Damn Yankees" except better! ;)

Plus it would get up the noses of his former "colleagues" - there seems to be a helluva lot of respect for Jeff in the music world - well deserved too. This guy rocked in Glasgow big time - i had hoped to see him do it again........

yea, we like them--Leno, Letterman, Stern. why? dunno but it sells. sometimes we all just get a little emotional I guess. I'm not going to go off anyone when they have a moment in hopes that they won't go off on me when I have one! (It might be happening NOW!! :D) but here we all are---still together. we'll get through this. keep talking. let's figure out what we've got left and move forward. don't look back. remember how we started this JOURNEY--favorite albums, favorite player-whatever. I haven't regretted a single moment of the last 9 years and 40 plus concerts. the friends, the travels, the HORSES!! ( ). I don't let current events destroy that! no, I don't understand. yes, I mad as blue blazes, and I'm still crying about it and I don't even know enough details to form a rational opinion yet! (doesn't seem to stop me, eh?) I'm not even sure where I'll end up on the issues. but the last nine years are still the best times!!!!

signed,

anxious to see how the next 9 turn out.

ya know-I hadn't even thought of that!! I'm in sales--a business where success depends largely on personal effort and self belief. Fear of success is HUGE here!! hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. it's a lot of work to be #1.......maybe I'll relax a little too and not try so hard......

Hi Wildone! Why not? Its no secret i had a few run-ins with CJ -that kinda toned down my interest in BT - i always read these pages with great interest but i had some hard stuff going in personal life which has thankfully receded, and now want to join up with the good folks of MR.........

I was always coming over - not been on BT for 6-8 months. But i really enjoyed your blogs and the way you dealt with certain people who tried to rubbish you. Hope you stay around dude. I hate to kiss ass but to be honest - this forum without u will kinda be like Journey without Perry........still good but not what it OUGHT to be......

Hey Gordon...

For me, this isn't really a shoe on the other foot kind of a deal. As you know, my issue was never with Steve Augeri...It was with his obnoxious fans! Steve Augeri was a nice enough guy with a nice enough singing voice and I feel the same way about Jeff. That said, for me...Journey is, was, and always will be about Perry! This band, without Perry, has never been anything more than a cover band, playing the songs from my youth. I'm not even saying that's a bad thing, as I'd rather hear the music than not hear it!

I just never had any respect for Augeri's fans, as most of them only ever talked about the dude's ass in his red leather pants and never really talked about the guy as a musician! Also, most of his fans were VERY disrespectful of Perry, without understanding that without Perry's voice making all of these songs famous, Augeri would have never had a gig to land and would have remained an employee of The Gap (not that there is anything wrong with making an honest living)!

I know John. I'm totally with you on the Perry front, but i did like Jeff at the helm and now know how the wigglers felt. You are right tho - they were very OTT and thought this guy was God, when in fact he was merely singing songs written by a VOCAL GOD!

well, maybe not completely. the average fan doesn't know Jeff-he's just the 'cover' guy as far as they are concerned and they were probably pretty closed minded towards him and mad at him because SP/SA wasn't there. so Neal and the guys got their fair share of attention I'm sure. not in the lobby or at the dart board because some members are more open to fan fellowship than others. I'm just sayin'..........

I did a pretty fair job of un-worship at Loffler's. Neal wasn't supposed to be there. I was invited by a 'Mysterious' someone else and 'worshipped' accordingly. I was momentarily star struck when I literally ran into Neal and Jeff in the parking lot (actually I opened the door and nearly hit them--opps). I didn't even SPEAK to Jeff!!! my bad!! but it was the rock gawd saying hi darlin'! good grief!! WhatsAGirlToDo.

Jeff, I have never forgiven myself for that--I hope you can. GirlsADork. besides, I had soiled myself and I wasn't huggable at that point anyway....hehe . howie, jeff, gary, dave, marco and neal. in one small room. the girl was on overload.

after that, I kinda disappeared inside, what with all the gorgeous 20 somethings worshipping and all. oh well.............luckily, I wasn't invisible to ALL the rock gawds. my lips are sealed.

Rolie AND Perry in the same group, would never happen. No matter how many dreams some of you people here have.

I can see Jeff & Brian May doing something in the future. I can't see Steve Smith going back to Rock Music, he's doing his own thing as successfully as he consideres it. And That's what I admire about him. Besides being a great drummer.
