this whole forum has gone totally to shit this week, but I'm gonna throw this out. Anyone who has such high praise for Stern, should think a moment before giving other people shit for trying to be like him. He does much worse things than calling a celebrity on their phone. Sadly, that's how he got such a huge following. I'm not even coming close to condoning what the guys did, because it is over stepping their bounds, and Perry has a right to privacy, no matter what anyone here thinks. Personally, I think that not only does he go after the station and M & B, but he has his lawyer find out who the person was that called and gave his number out, since it wasn't just a random act, and they are giving the person tickets, they have to legally have a record on hand, with the person's name and address and phone number.

That said, IF this was even a true thing to begin with.

Man, that is really a shitty thing to do. Steve was smart to hang up so quickly. "Entertainment" is really becoming like the rise & fall of the Roman Empire in this country (or maybe the western world).

Anyway, Mark & Brian are big fans of SP/Journey, but they are also lame.

Steve Perry knows exactly how Mark & Brian work and that they have been idiots for well over 20 years. I lived in the LA area for most of the 80's and SP called their show many times to give them grief or discuss a Journey or solo project (or to sing the infamous "Happy Birthday" song).

Believe me, Steve Perry needed no help letting them know just what he thought of them. I would not be surprised if he called them on a back-line to put 'em in their places.

A few clarifications, thanks to my son who didn't bother telling me in advance.

The jerkwad who called in also mentioned a restaurant where he sees Perry all the time (mentioned it by name -- and then tried to backtrack unsuccessfully). Greaaat. I don't know what the restaurant is, but anyone who was listening to the program does. And Tammy, Brian (again my Brian) heard the voice on the other end...he said it was Steve. I play my BTM and OTR interviews often enough, he knows Steve's speaking voice.

The jerkwad didn't win the tickets... he was only in the running for them. Somebody who gave out Sandra Locke's number got the tickets to McCartney.

No class M&B...none.

I can't get over people that say they are fans or friends and then do things like stalk him or give out his phone number or info like the restaurant. I actually know people that have done that and worse. As Steve Perry said, where's the love in that?

sas.. its not very often family or friends i betcha,, it depends on what business' you use, ,, what towns , hotels , transportation they use,,, builders , folks at the city that know what name and address the bills are in.. guys at the post office,, the car salesman,, ect..ect... tons of folks have his phone number to give it out to mark and brian ,,

The problem is, its not that hard if you try hard enough to get ahold of someone's phone number. I need only point to the shit-storm HP got into when their people used "pretexting" to actually go as far as getting ahold of several reporters' phone records. Then again usually any system I've ever heard of usually has a system that marks certain accounts as classified or sensitive. I know California's tax agency has such a system set up that is usually there for celeberties and stuff, but i'm getting sidetracked. Point is as bad as this sounds, it seems anyone with some persistence and inginuity can get ahold of whatever information they want. Not justifying what M and B did, quite the opposite. I think even worse and more guilty on this whole deal was whoever broke Steve Perry's trust and divulged the phone number

People can disappear if they really want too.
It's wrong for those guys to call, knowing that he doesn't want them too.
ALL HE HAS TO DO IS SEND A WRITTEN LETTER to them REQUESTING THEM NOT TO CALL HIM ANYMORE..
By law, they can't call him....

If you're name is with a collection agency, you send them a letter in writing, typed whatever,
informing them you DON'T want them to call you and THEY CAN'T CALL YOU ANYMORE! :!:
