Perry Gets The Last Laugh

Postby Crazie Scarab » Sat Jun 30, 2007 1:02 pm

Yep. I believe so. Look at the road Journey travelled since his "departure," (pun intended). Decent at best, but never great.

Steve Perry has, in the last few years released a live DVD and many reissues of material when he was with Journey. The GH is now making record sales again and DSB is like what? The number one downloaded song since the Sopranos show a few weeks ago?

Yeah, I'd say Mr. Perry is loving life right about now.

The dude is a fucking genius!

Sorry Neal & Jon.. Steve won.

Not necessarily one legged men SJ but I think it clearly demonstrates who the shrewd business man was in the group.

Neal and Jon officially dropped out of the game with the firing of JSS. With Jeff, I believe they stood a chance of at least saving face. I should have known the ball would be dropped. Didn't see that coming. But, whatever. I'm happy. I have plenty of Journey music/video to enjoy. :D

JSS has moved on like SP, they have both wiped their feet of Frig and Frac and are moving along down the road. I am sure one thing that crossed their minds, and I truly believe this, I really dont think any type of release was planned with JSS (I think they kept this from him too) simply because of all they had to lose when SP left. Remember they had to divide millions with Perry and pennies with Augeri, they really couldnt afford another divorce.
When in doubt, DUCK!

Perry's voice is Journey's legacy, I think we can all agree on that. Augeri was good while he lasted... Jeff was the band's true hope for the future, another shot at greatness. Unfortunately, the "powers that be" got their wires crossed and just couldn't see that far into the future. Moving on? A new sound?

While I think Jeremey truly has an excellent voice, I'm afraid Journey has just ran it's course...

FormerJRNYfan- I agree with everything but Augeri. I paid once to see him and one time free. He never ,ever could sing those songs up to Perry. Jeff ,maybe had a chance because of time passed and his writing abilities and musicianship. But Neal & Jon decided to have their own 4th of July early ! Idiots!!!!
