...for the B-sides, if you already own all the 2006 remastered albums and the greatest hits live?

It's worth it just for the B-sides, in my opinion. "Liberty", "La Raza del Sol", etc., are all great tunes.

Absolutely, positively. I'd buy this way before any of the other compilations. I believe the re-mastering was done in the early 90's, though.

I enjoyed reading the info in the book that came with it originally. The 2 instrumentals on the 3rd disc are cool, too.

Sorry, missed that. I would probably still get it for the booklet with all the notes on each of the songs.

I was a pretty big Journey fan in the late 80's and had several of their cd's. My wife bought me the TIME3 boxset for Christmas, and I'm telling you, it opened up a whole new world for me! It was at a time when I felt music was at a low for me (I hated grunge), and there wasn't anything new worth listening to. Prior to that, all I knew were the last few Journey albums. This got me so excited, that I made it my mission to own every album they ever released. That was by far, the best Christmas present I've ever received! It really got me into the older Journey albums, and I was amazed at how many they'd released.

As far as the remasters go, I'm not sure what was included in all of those, but I'm sure that there's still stuff on the 3 disks, that were not included in the remasters. Also, like they said, make sure you get the full size box with the booklet. It's a very good/informative read. You should be able to find one now for 25 to 35 bucks! Enjoy.

The La Raza and Only Solutions that appear on Time 3 are different than the ones on the new remasters. In the case of Only Solutions, drastically different. Time also has the Cain fronted "We're All That Really Matters."

Plus disc 1 of Time has the latest pressings and masters of the great Pre-Perrys +unreleased preperrys and Velvet Curtain.

That's right, plus Time3 has the two killer instrumental tracks "With A Tear" and "Into Your Arms".

BOTH great tunes, WAT and IYA.

Would LOVE to hear the band roll one of those out sometimes when Castronovo and whoever is singing need a little in show break

depends upon your income

Postby lidobar » Sun Jul 08, 2007 5:08 pm

depends how much money u got 2 burn. i bought mine used from amazon.com in one of the short double jewel CD cases and it still had the long booklet describing the story behind the songs on it. i wanted it because i collect journey cds and have all their cds now in the 2006 digipak editions with the expanded booklets and tour dates. i could easily have downloaded the music 4 free on napster like sites out there but i wanted to have the cd and booklet/artwork 4 my collection. if you're not a collector then just having all the 2006 remasters includes all b-sides with the exception of Robert Fleishman's For You and Jon Cain's lead vocal song, and an instrumental is sufficient. All those three were pretty unimpressive and could do without them.
