Dean, after I quit wiping my eyes from your description of the founders with their curlers and tights and tea, I'm curious: what is so wrong with impeaching Bush? I don't get that. Why can't we impeach him, Cheney and Gonzales? Why is that a bad idea? How can we go on another 1 1/2 like this? Maybe, actually, Skylorde, Barb, GI Jim, St. John, and the rest are right and we are proven wrong. It would be awesome if everything turned out okay in the mideast the way they are planning. Why does every bit of intuition and common sense tell me that it isn't going to happen that way?

Walter Pincus of The Washington Post, had this war accurately labeled as the transparent shell game it was from day one.
So, too, did Knight-Rider Newspapers.
By and large, the mainstream press did give the war a pass and enabled Bush to go to war.
That damn liberal media!

Lights1961 wrote:THE BIG QUESTION should be if they were there in 1998, where did they go in 2003???

Hmm. I dunno.
Maybe U.N. Inspectors like Hans Blix and Scott Ritter were actually telling the truth when they reported there were no WMDs in the lead up to war.

Actually, there is a multitude of ways you can spell it.
I see different varieties in print all the time.
Including: al-Qaeda, al-Qa'ida, al-Quaida.
You will also find numerous different spellings for the Muslim prophet Mohamed, as well as their holy book the Koran.

With that said, in the hustle of trying to point out your lies before you could spawn new ones, I did misspell it.
Much unlike you slimy bastards, I don’t just slap a new sheen of spin on my mistakes, I recognize and own up to them.

McCain, two former Chiefs of Staff, Powell, and countless other retired military leaders who want torture banned?
Or you, a schlubby, basement-dwelling webmaster of a Journey forum who’s yet to see pussy up-close in a non 2-dimensional, pixilated form?

Faulty intelligence, a known outcome of torture, is one of the chief reasons we are in this Iraqi Gordian Knot.
Iban al Shakh al Libby claimed a strong connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda as he was torturted in one of our overseas black CIA prisons.
Colin Powell would later make a fool of himself stating this outright malarkey in front of the UN Security Council.

I'm beginning to hear more and more talk on the radio regarding sacrifices the American people need to make, so here is what I think should/might happen: the draft (the great equalizer) will be reinstated for rich and poor, black/white/brown, etc., old and young, able-bodied and less able-bodied. Everyone from 18-40, male and female and described above, should be eligible. 30-40 year-olds should be assigned as administrative or support personnel; 18-29 should be tossed into all fronts in the middle east. 30-40 year-olds (the blowhards) should man computers, planes, submarines, ships, bases, etc.; this will mean that our entire front-line army will be replenished completely with new "blood." The war in the middle east would be over pretty quickly--either the blowhards will end it before it ever gets as far as them being in a submarine, or the replenishment and beefing up of the army will mop it all up faster than it is now. Win/win. I am saying this not in jest. The army has not met their recruitment targets for the last 2 months. Republicans are jittery and defecting from Bush and his administration. This army cannot and should not fight a war continuously for 5-6 years if it goes on this way. That would be immoral; more immoral than it is now.

P.S. Based on the demographics of this thread, most of the blowhards manning the submarine will be right-wing Republicans. Ready to make a sacrifice? (Barb--I know your son is in Iraq; many, many thanks to him and your family!!)

Not thinking that "Al Qaeda is ahead by leaps and bounds in the PR war" does NOT translate into me thinking we are winning the PR war. You're putting words in my mouth. Furthermore, the events I mentioned above were intended to illustrate that some are "seeing that progress is steadily being made."

Glenn Beck is the only talk show host I trust much at all. Besides that, Media Matters is about as unbiased and as truthfully accurate as a supermarket tabloid.

Attention to Terrorism: Clinton Administration

P 174: President Clinton "deeply concerned" about Osama Bin Ladin.
P 101: President Clinton makes chemical, biological, and nuclear terrorism a priority.
P 109: Clinton Administration establishes "the Bin Ladin unit."
P 358: Clinton Administration's management of the last weeks of December 1999 was "the one period in which the government as a whole seemed to be acting in concert to deal with terrorism."
P 487: Clinton Administration successful in arresting al Qaeda members.
P 457: Richard Clarke runs exercise where terrorists use plane for suicide mission.

Addendum: Clinton administration so concerned about terrorism and Al Qaeda that they pass up the chance to get Bin Laden on a silver platter when offered by Sudan.

This is to my buddy Deano, I'm Sorry I missed your posts last night. It surprises me that you can take time away from your gay porno to share some ideas with us. I don't care that you hate me. Your opinions are wrong and you have a weak vocabulary. Ever try to make a statement without cussing.

By the way, I'm expecting you to show up in Roanoke Virginia on July 28th to show up my tribute band. I assume you already have your plane tickets and you've made your travel plans. Don't disappoint me.

That's your overnight prepared comeback? Sowhat if a guy wants to blow another guy. Does that really bother you? What if a woman wants to eat out another woman? Is that a republican likeness? No, your party doesn't want any fun to be had. Hell, keep restricting free speech, right to choose and evoke executive privelidge whenever things get tight in Washington. The Democrats are clearly the party of the people, and the GOP is the party of the old, boring and rich. Congratulations.

PS, wasn't Mark Foley, the esteemed gentleman from Florida, a REPUBLICAN, blowing and fucking paiges? I rest my case.

Secondly, you need to get out of Illinois, travel a little, see that there is more to Chicag, Champaign and Peoria. Isolationism is a closed way of thinking. America's strength has always lied in it's alllies. Sadly, we have flushed them away and really do not have friends in the world, and if you think or one minute we don't need allies, you need togoto school and turn off the EIB radio network for a bit.
