Actually, he is the commander in chief of the United States military and it is his call. As Dave mentioned, congress can stop funding for this war and then war is over. They are too chickenshit to do that for some reason, though. Those folks can talk the talk, but will not walk the walk. They have the power to end this war. Why do you think Cindy Sheehan is so pissed off at Nancy Pelosi? As much as I disagree with that woman's thinking, at least she is consistent in her beliefs. At least she is smart enough to know that the people who promised to end the war are full of shit and she's fighting back. Stupid fight, but she stands on her principles and is not a partisan hack.

Why so harsh? I didn't call you any names in my post. There's medication for this kind of anger, you know.

Also,,,, since youre such a Bush-lover,,, how come you keep trying to dig some shit on him!?

Selective reading by a liberal again. Who'd a thunk?

On one side, you defend him and get offended if someone disrespects him, while on the other side you post shit about him just to cause more arguements.
I know where I stand when it comes to Bush,, but do YOU!? Make up your mind for God's sake!!

If I disagree with Bush on an issue, I say so. If I agree with him on something and someone slams him, I slam back. Is that so friggin' difficult for your brain to understand?

Disagreeing with Bush on one point doesn't mean that I think he's an evil person or a tyrannical dictator, like people such as yourself seem to think. Like any politician, only the mindless myrmadons think he is either God incarnate or evil. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Please try thinking for yourself for a change. It does wonders.

Why so harsch? cause I am tried of your bullshit. You keep going back and forth and you keep bringing one bad thing just so you get to defend him.
If not, what was your whole point of posting this!?
And I dont have any anger management problems, youre the one who needs the fucking medication for your multiple personalities. The only time My anger comes through is either dealin with idiots or bad drivers or both!

And speakin of thinkin and using brain, Id hate to see what kinda war is goin on inside your brain. You aruge with yourself as much as you argue with us.

Every president has his flaws, no problem there,,, but most president do good things for their countries and you see good things that make up for the flaws. In Bush's case, there's way too many flaws,,,and he is very stupid as a person,,, and he has no interest in doing whats good for his country and his people. That what makes him evil.
You dissagree? Make a list of 10 Good thing he has done for us since he stepped into office .

Congress is getting lower approval ratings than Bush - because they got voted in to confront his bullying tactics and put a stop to his abuse of power, and now they are acting scared to stand up to him. I am so sick of politics today that I could puke. We vote these bastards in to do the will of the people and they do the opposite. 70% of the American people want the borders closed, and what do they do - they prepare a bill to give illegal aliens amnesty! At least it didn't pass, but these guys can't get anything passed.

We could have closed the borders around the entire nation 1000 times over with the money we have wasted in Iraq. Hell for that matter we could have put a factory on every street corner in Mexico which would have given the illegals a reason to stay in their country and also provided us with a low-cost source of labor to compete with China's flood of low-cost products that are dominating the world markets.

With control of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the government it is indeed a dictatorial regime. He wasn't even elected, he commandeered the government and his henchmen made sure the press was manipulated through the corporations that own most of the major outlets to the point where he could literally get away with murder.

Are there any politicians that you agree with 100% of the time? Are they perfect? They aren't are they? So, using your logic, if Bush does something I agree with, I can post my feelings on the topic. If Bush does something I do NOT agree with, I have to keep my mouth shut because if I don't, why I must have multiple personalities. Your logic is flawed.

Every president has his flaws, no problem there,,, but most president do good things for their countries and you see good things that make up for the flaws. I don't have a list of 10 good things. Like I said, I don't agree with him on everything and, in actuality, his Presidency has gone downhill very fast recently. I find myself disagreeing with him more and more.

BTW, Bush is not stupid. Stubborn definitely, and too much so. Anyway, he got slightly better grades in College than John Kerry, for instance. Just about anyone who has worked closely with the man, even those who disagree with him politically, say that he is a very well-read individual. He certainly is not an effective communicator, that is plainly obvious, but it doesn't make him "stupid".

Something to think about.

Since the President announced his plan to escalate the war in Iraq:

590 U.S. soldiers have died and 3,575 have been wounded in Iraq since January 10, 2007. [icasualties.org; 1/10/07-7/9/07]

Of the wounded, 1,672 suffer injuries too severe to return to duty.

At least 13,463 civilians and members of the Iraqi Security Forces have died since January 2007, according to media reports. [icasualties.org]

Nearly 11,000 people have been killed or wounded in multiple fatality bombings. [Brookings Institution, 7/5/07]

According to an internal military assessment, the U.S. military’s plan to secure Baghdad against a rising insurgency is falling far short of its goal. Fewer than one-third of Baghdad’s neighborhoods are under the control of U.S. and Iraqi forces. [New York Times, 6/4/07]

Senior military officer, on the U.S. military’s Baghdad security plan: “We were way too optimistic.” [New York Times, 6/4/07]

According to one senior military official: “We are starting to see more sophistication and training in their attacks…clearly the trend is going the wrong direction.” [Washington Post, 6/3/07]

The war in Iraq is costing American taxpayers an estimated $10 billion a month. [CRS, 6/28/07]

Iraq’s largest Sunni political group announced pulled out of parliament over last month’s vote to remove the speaker, Mahmoud al-Mashhadan, a Sunni Arab. [AP, 6/24/07]

No progress has been made on the political benchmarks the Iraqi government was supposed to have met already. Oil sharing legislation, the reversal of deBaathification, new election laws, scheduling of provincial elections, amending the constitution and efforts to disband the militias are all languishing either in parliament or in negotiations among the three parties. [Washington Post, 7/8/07]

Not to mention the tens of thousands of soldiers who will return to the USA with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome). This is a very debilitating psychological disorder with a very high rate of suicides and substance addictions associated with it. This thing makes guys snap in a bar and pull out a pistol when someone looks at them funny. It ruins most of the lives of those affected by it - and Bush caused it all.

How sick it is to think that our president has done more damage to innocent people than was done to us on 9/11. Sad, but true.

Indeed. As a UK citizen and member of the world OUTSIDE of the US, you need to understand how the rest of the world feels about Dubya. His net effect is that a large majority think that americans are generally like him. They voted for him. I know that is not true from the people who regularly post here, but that is a very strong feeling. He lets you guys down. Bigtime. Anyone with half a brain knows that Dubya is just a puppet for all of the state criminals like Cheney. Dubya is just a front for them. His dad's old Haliburton cronies. Bush, under the direction of Cheney and his crew, sacrificed US servicemen to line the pockets and entrench the power of those people and their dynasty. Why Blair went along with it I do not know? A stupid decision which has cost Blair dear over here. Bush can barely string a sentence together. He sounds like a badly written autocue.

His dad and Rumsfeld put Saddam there and armed him. He was absolute flavour of the month 20 years ago. Seemed the best bet in the middle east to those dipshits at the time. Indirectly, the UK is getting bombed for Blair aligning us to The Shrubs foreign policy. The Bush administration even supported Bin Laden and let the vast majority of his family leave the US immediately after 9/11. WTF?

However, it doesn't matter if Hilary Clinton wins in 08, the damage is done. The US and UK will be targets for underhand Al Queda attacks.

It can be called either a representative or constitutional republic. This is a good definition from Wikipedia...

Unlike a pure democracy, in a constitutional republic, citizens are not governed by the majority of the people but by the rule of law. Constitutional Republics are a deliberate attempt to diminish the threat of mobocracy thereby protecting dissenting individuals and minority groups from the tyranny of the majority by placing checks on the power of the majority of the population. The power of the majority of the people is checked by limiting that power to electing representatives who govern within limits of overarching constitutional law rather than the popular vote having legislative power itself. John Adams defined a constitutional republic as "a government of laws, and not of men." Also, the power of government officials is checked by allowing no single individual to hold executive, legislative and judicial powers. Instead these powers are separated into distinct branches that serve as a check and balance on each other. A constitutional republic is designed so that "no person or group [can] rise to absolute power."

Thanks. I love the Homer one, too, though. If I ever get bored of this one, I'll probably switch back.

I actually started using the Homer/Grim Reaper avatar over at the Glenn Beck forums. It was during the time where he was talking mostly gloom and doom. Lots of users on the forum were complaining about it so I changed my name to Glenn's Unofficial Mascot and took on the Homer/Reaper avatar. Then I just decided I liked it and adopted it in the other forums I'm a member of.

I do like this one better, though.

Behshad wrote:You dissagree? Make a list of 10 Good thing he has done for us since he stepped into office .

Never tried this but I'll take a crack at it, in no particular order.

1. He came through with a tax cut that he promised during the campaign. Which has basically given me a 3-5% increase in pay. As opposed to the tax cut Clinton campaigned on in '92, then while he was in office said, "you know from New Hampshire on people thought this whole thing was about tax cuts" By the way he then increased the gas tax even on the lowest of classes.

2. Appointed Alito and Roberts to the Supreme Court. Both who are against "eminent domain" abuses by the gov't. I don't have time to explain it to you. Google it.

3. Though he failed to get it through congress, tried to get school vouchers passed. Which would have given "choice" to parents on where to educate their kids.

4. Instead of just being "concerned" about Al-Qaeda and terrorism, he sent military to actually capture and kill them.

5. Got rid of Hussein like past presidents said should be done. Whether you agree with it or not. He did do what they said needed to be done.

6. Threw the Kyoto treaty in the trash!

7. Sent aid to Africa to help with their AIDS epidemic. Even Bono said Bush "came through" when Clinton only gave him lip service.

8. Acted like a complete gentleman at the Coretta Scott King funeral when Jimmy Carter got all political and made a complete ass of himself at a FUNERAL.

9. Jenna Bush is Hot!

10. His wife is also hot for an older woman.

For all you Bush haters out there. I know it's your "constitutional" right to free speech. And your "duty" to speak up when you disagree with something our President does, however I remind you that there is still a treason law on the books in this country and since we ARE at war you could all be put to death for denouncing our government. If he was such a dictatorial leader as you all assert, why hasn't he enforced this law? It is his option as commander in chief.

Can you imagine the backlash on that? OMG
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Thank you Marc. I just wish that there were more Americans that were willing to believe the truth that you have so succinctly stated here.
