Hell, even Juan Del Castillo of Lights got more votes than Hugo does and I'm about the only one here who's ever talked about him. You hear about Jeremey and Hugo ALL the time on here.

Of course, now some of the Hugo nutjobs will be coming in here to stack the poll more in his favor...

Just wanted to post that I've changed my screen name a little, because of confusion with another board member. I was Jeremey'sTXfan, now JH'sTXfan. Less confusion that way.

I think that the person who said Hugo doesn't sound like Perry at all, is wrong. I don't think he's as close to Jeremey is, but the first time I heard him, without seeing him, I thought he sounded like him, just a little thinner, and not as full bodied a voice as Perry.

I think opinions are awesome, but when facts become blurred by personal bias, that can be a little too much.

I think Juan Del Castillo is really good too and has that Perry sound, but no one has done it for me like Jeremey.

However, I must say I like the way Jeremey sounds on his originals better than I do his Journey covers.

I just feel really bad for Steve Augeri, honestly, he seemed like a good guy and I think he got treated like shit. BUT, I could be wrong. I don't know the whole story.

Well I know Hugo doesn't have a web site advertising the fact he does impersontions and entertainment, like Jeremey does, not that it makes him a bad guy.

Don't talk down to me dickhead. First of all, this has nothing to do with Frontiers or Evolution. What I see is Jeremey doing a better rendition of Journey music than Hugo. There was a friggin poll here, Jeremey got twice the votes that Hugo did. What the hell else is there to discuss? If Journey hires Jeremey, will that shut you up? Hugo can go on with his lounge act.

You have the right to have your own opinion dickhead, I respect that. What I don't respect is people make unwarrented comments about a singer who they have never seen before. I have never made an opinion about Jeremey as a vocalist because I have never seen him live, untill then I will keep my opinion to myself.
With that I wll retire from this board

We're not grading Evolution here, they're a great band. If they had Jeremey, they'd be better. But I think he's spoken for.

So sad you're leaving, bye.

Both have severe pitch issues.

Jeremy does not have the range, has huge pitch and breathing issues. He slips in and out of falsetto. He does not have the SP sound at all.

Hugo is much closer between the two. There is no comparison.

The only reason I joined this forum was to respond to the asinine anti-Hugo bashing going on.

Like Jeremey better? Fine.

I don't, but that's what makes a horserace. I acknowledge Jeremey is a terrific singer, although, in my opinion, he is not as good as Hugo is, and he is not as Perry-sounding as Hugo is.

But I'm not going around slamming Jeremey as awful on Journey material - clearly, he's far from awful. Just the opposite, in fact. Likewise, anyone with a set of functioning ears would say the same thing about Hugo - he sounds like Perry, and he's got a killer voice.

All the Hugo slamming here is unfair, and I called it out. And I'm glad I did. All forums, this one included, grow stale and boring with only one set of opinions.

Like I said in my first post, I am a big Journey fan for nearly 25 years. Perry is my favorite vocalist, and will always be my first choice for Journey. I felt Hugo should have gotten the gig back in 1997 over Augeri. However, my first choice today for Journey would be Jeff Scott Soto.

I can't get excited for Journey with Jeremey as a result, when there are at least three other guys I'd rather see - and listen to- front the band.

If you would read above posts, you would see that the second link IS NOT JEREMEY. That is a link to another tribute band with the same name as Jeremey's band. Please read the whole thread people. Go to http://www.journeytributeband.com/ listen to Jeremey and then comment.

No I am not too emotional, I am reacting to all the "Hugo Sucks" comments, because you have never seen him in EVOLUTION or witness the whole Journey Experience from EVOLUTION. Unless you are president of a record company, I think everyone should take your opinions for what it's worth, not much.
So don't make any judgements if you have never seen him with EVOLUTION, his original music speals for it's self, CLASSIC!!!

I'm sorry but you are a fucking idiot. I dont give a damn what record producer says about Journey especially one who obviously is not a fan, and obviously doesn't know what Journey sounds like. What a stupid thing to say! I don't have to go to Evolution shows to hear that Hugo cant do Journey, there is Youtube, and Evolution has a website.

Dont BS me about how I have to hear it live either, thats bullshit. Go look at anyother Journey singer or tribute singer on the internet or listen to the boots, they sound pretty good.

Hugo's originals (judging by the one song I heard) are good. His Journey covers suck. That is indisputable. Disagree if you want. You are an idiot.

Well, I never looked beyond my own sense of hearing, to a record producer, to know who somebody does or doesn't sound like, thats one of the most moronic things I ever heard someone say.

Don't take this personal, but are you tone deaf? If not, do you actually own any Journey music? Listen to it ever? Because I would guess that you are not familiar with Perry's sound as much as you are with Hugo's.

ok. I did what the above said. Here is my take. First, no offense to Jeremy intended. He sounds like the guy from Survivor. He breaks the note in "feeling that its goooooo (pause for breath) oooooooone, can change your mind". Um. Ok. I can see he has a good voice, but it seems to me the range is too high. perhaps step it down?

As for Hugo, I was far more impressed. He imitates Perrys actions, but that aside, he hits the range smoothly. He looks the part, so what? Neal wants to sell Journey as it were so there you go. To bring Jeremy in would (to me) be like bringing in JSS for a different sound. Doesn't make sense. Hugo also changes up the song, doesnt do it exactly as it is on the album. I like a little improv ....stepping away from the album as it sounds and do a little mixing it up.

I say Hugo. Sorry to offend anyone, but my choice is made. I'll be buying Hugo's albums just because I like his voice. I like Jeremy's too, and if he had an album, I'de buy it if its not Journey related.

That's not Jeremey. That is another band from Europe called Frontiers.

This is Jeremey and Frontiers from Virginia.

Thank God someone on here provided the correct link, or I would have thought the worst of you. I have apologized in above quotes once I found the "real" you. You rock. You really do. And Hugo is good. I like his voice too. If indeed your going to work with Journey, I wish you all the best. Frankly, its not YOUR fault, but I'm burnt on Journey right now and dont think I'll be seeing their future tours. I hope you stay on your own so I can see you!!!!

Okay, what the fuck? You obviously know me, so why go posting links to other bands and saying that it's me? Anyone even care to click on that link? Does anyone actually think that was me or my band?

Certain shit is beyond the pale, basing entire threads upon video clips that are obviously not me or my band. At least all of you haters get your facts straight. It's not hard to find clips of Frontiers, my band, based out of Virginia (not this dude who obviously does a good job, but it's also obvious you posted a link that wasn't me on purpose)...All one need do to find clips of me singing Journey is go to our damned website.

Jesus, people can say all the horrendously terrible things they want about me, call me a liar or a clown or (gulp) a bad singer, and I'm beyond all that & certainly not going to come out here and mix it up with you folks. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But when it's obvious misrepresentation of me and my band members, then I think it needs to be clarified since this has gone on for 2 pages now.

To clarify, this is the Frontiers video page: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... E2A82AE414

The link Voyager posted here is of a very good Journey tribute band out of Sweden also called Frontiers. However innocent it may be played off, I can't help but think there's plenty of clips to find right on our own website without someone having to go out of their way to misrepresent me or my band.

For the most part, I've staying off this board completely - The contraversy and discussion here is to be expected, and many thanks to all of you who have posted positive comments and supportive....But the world still turns, & I've got my hands full with plenty of other wonderful events happening in my life - it's not too funny to browse this site after being away for a while and see flat out lies and fakery being passed off as fact. I find it disrespectful not only to me, but to my band, and to the members of this other Journey tribute from Sweden, who are also doing what they love and work very hard at what they do.

I wish I'd clicked on the links now. I just didn't because we've already done so many comparison threads that it seemed pointless. In fact, we've done so many I don't see why this one was even started.
Unfortunately I cannot sit on this site night and day and compare apples to oranges. I can hardly keep up with the businesses I have. That said, THAT is why I started this thread. I wanted honest opinions, not bashing. I needed help from those of you on both sides. I dont know either of them, I dont favor either. Journey is still dead to me, I just wanted to know why they chose one over the other when obviously both have what they are looking for. For the record, up to this post, I have heard both, and have gotten all the info I need to make my mind rest at ease as to why Journey does what they do.

Thank you Jeremy and those that posted the CORRECT links so I can get on with my own very busy life....Journey-less.

Yes, Journey will decide who will front the band, and I don't give a shit what any red neck thinks either, Hugo would sell more Journey tickets then Jeremey could ever sell because Hugo has more of the Journey look and soud then Jeremey does.

LOL! C'mon NIG, you know I wouldn't stoop to posting the wrong Jeremey video to promote Hugo. I totally thought it was Jeremey's band. I clicked on one of the links that someone posted to Jeremey's videos on YouTube.com and on the right menu there was another video from a Journey cover band called Frontiers. What were the chances of it not being Jeremey's Frontiers Journey cover band - one in a million?

If someone could go back and remove all the improper links, I wish they would. But after Jeremey addressed it, about 30 people have quoted it.

They can't take Hugo, not with Neal on record saying how creepy it would be.
On the subject of resemblence, I think stevew2's avatar looks more like later pictures of Perry than Hugo does, Hugo being the 1981 version, and more like Perry than SA ever did (never understood how some thought they looked alike), of course that's just one picture.

I ve seen him in person ,Jeremey resembles Perry slightly, but is about a foot taller, and not enough to freak you out. he is a cool dude and can sing his ass off ,and makes it look easy doing it
