Just this week they filibustered and ultimately defeated a bill that would’ve established standards for time-off between deployments for our soldiers.
But you guys support the troops, right?

What's the specific name/number of that bill? It would be interesting to see what's really in it as far as amendments go, because things like that are often defeated for reasons other than the initial intent of the bill.

Doubtful.
It was Jim Webb's bill.
He is a decorated vet, former Repub, and the bill also had the support of the Military Officers Association of America.
The Republicans are filibustering even the things they support so they can turn around and tell their base that the Dems aren't getting anything done.

If true, it's reprehensible but it's no different than what the libs were doing when the neocons were in power.

A priority? Whew I feel better. A priority I'm guessing that was pretty damn low on the list. It doesn't specify "Top" does it? Guessing it ranked somewhere below "picking up a bottle of Spray-N-Wash" for a blue dress
The_Noble_Cause wrote:P 109: Clinton Administration establishes "the Bin Ladin unit."

Is this the same unit that had him cornered dead to rights and was on the line asking for the go ahead to take him out and the administration told them to back off???? I think it probably is.

Could you have picked a worse possible time to preemptively uncork the moonshine and dance a jig about Bush’s strides against Al Qaeda?
Since we last sparred, it has now been verified that Al Qaeda is back to pre-9/11 strength.
If I were you, I’d lay low and shut my fat fucking face.
Maybe you can follow Sean Hannity’s “fascists of freedom" tour as it leaves its war-profiting, sludge stain all across America.

It was Bush’s own justice department that limp-wristedly meted out Burger’s sentence.

Besides, as I already said, its not just McCain who wants torture banned.

I don’t care if he plays pinochle in the nude with a king jumbo prawn dangling from his cock.
But, fine, fuck him.
Despite his credible track record on such matters, the truth is, when it comes to debunking The Great WMD Myth, there are an infinitude of sources to choose from.
For starters, what about U.N. Inspectors, Hans Blix and Mohamed ElBaradei?
Let me guess, did an obscene fascination with hairless underage twat somehow impair their professional judgement, as well?

Skylorde wrote:BTW, this is the same Scott Ritter who accepted $400,000 from "Shakir Al-Khafaji", a Iraqi/American dude with clear ties to Saddam. Ritter was contracted to produce a documentary called "In Shifting Sands". It is worthy to note that Scott Ritter has admitted Al-Khafaji is/was very sympathetic to Saddam's regime and this documentary was to illustrate that. Ritter even went as far to say "The American Government is NOT going to like this film".

And did this propaganda film make Ritter’s prognostications of “zero WMDS” any less accurate?
No?
Ok, so shut the fuck up then.

Skylorde wrote:LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL I Just can't LOL enough on this one.
Oh boy. Let me get out the ABC spelling blocks so I can spell it out for you.

A commission comprised of Democrats and Republicans to supposedly find the truth? Or do you think it might have something to do with two Presidents, one from each party, were likely equally culpable (read IGNORANT) in dismissing the signs leading up to 9/11. Anyone with a tad bit of logic can see why the far left AND far right accuse each other of smoothing over the rough spots of the report: to protect their man. Get it? Ah probably not.

Hold up, after reading the above, I think it’s best I whip out my tin foil hat for the remainder of this post
I hate to tell ya’ this, but bashing liberals, republicans and the government all in the same breath doesn’t make you sound like an independent-minded patriot, it makes you sound like the paranoid schizophrenic at the bus station who washes his ass out with a rag.

Skylorde wrote:Let's pluck a date from the timeline shall we? The Iraq war was officially kicked off on 3-20-2003, a full 18 months after 9/11. During those 18 months, the military went through a massive build up, especially (but not limited to) in areas of cruise missiles. After we thoroughly pounded Baghdad from the air, an army of Palestinians with sling shots could have walzted into Baghdad and toppled the Republican guard.

Total bullshit.
The first Bush defense budget went into effect on Oct. 1, 2002. None of the funds in that budget had any impact on the soldiers’ readiness for combat, or the weapons they used to destroy Taliban or Iraqi forces.
In fact, weapons initiated under Clinton’s time in office such as Joint Defense Attack Munitions (JDAMs) and unmanned aerial drones made it possible to destroy targets more precisely during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

This is one of the astronomically rare instances where I’ll cede to Dick Cheney when he said, "There is little that [the President] or his defense secretary can do to improve the force they have to deploy. It is all the work of previous administrations." and “A commander-in-chief leads the military built by those who came before him."

Skylorde wrote:Let's refer to the biggest propaganda medium of the left, the NY times:

Yeah, NY Times is such an organ of the left that the White House used one of their reporters Judith Miller, to churn up support for the war.

Skylorde wrote:Just referring to Democrats who actually have a shot:

Before you begin your response by telling me Gravel and Kucinich voted no, please, spare me the drivel. These two stand about as much of a chance of getting the party nomination as Hillary does of becoming a porn star. That's like me tellng you Captain Crunch voted NO for the war and he's running!

You also forgot Ron Paul, who, to this date has raised more money than one time frontrunner, McCain.
You said only one presidential candidate stood in opposition to the war and voted no.
Just like every other word uttered across a Republican’s profane, shit ringed mouth, that turned out to be a lie.

No worries, folks. Once the Democrats have control of the House, Senate and the Executive Branch all to themselves again, there will be remarkable progress in Iraq and the entire war on terrorism. You can count on it! Also, the economy will be as best it can be again. Gas prices will not be a problem and everyone will be as happy as we ever were!

Yes! Even though the Democrats have no plan at all, I have full and unconditional faith in them to make everything alright again.

Please, do join the Democrat Party to save America.

Don't forget to be green, people! That's very important! We wouldn't want to be responsible for leaving a carbon footprint in a world governed by Al Queda, now would we?

Yeah....RIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! {holding fingers in shape of OK sign}

I agree with Neal Boortz on this. Most politicians, Republican or Democrat, are about retaining power. They just go about it differently. I like the title of Bernie Goldberg's new book, which sums it up fairly well..."Liars to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right".

Don't be mad at us Dems...Look in the mirror.

Whoa is me, you fuckin idiots. Face it, your party is not only corrupt, but inept as well. Adios...

ANDREW... WHY DO YOU GIVE THIS INSANE MAN A PLATFORM TO SPEW HIS FILTH.

SHAME ON YOU.

Same reason you get to be a message board troll.

Whatever... I'm surprised Journey even talks to Andrew (maybe they don't know) given that he gives the insane a platform to spew lies and filth.

I know who Deano is. I have no fucking clue who the hell you are....You don't get it, are not likely to ever get it and have quickly become the new grinch of the board. Any last comments before we bid you farewell?

I hate to tell ya’ this, but bashing liberals, republicans and the government all in the same breath doesn’t make you sound like an independent-minded patriot, it makes you sound like the paranoid schizophrenic at the bus station who washes his ass out with a rag.

The sheer shallowness of this statement really reflects the depths of your ignorance. Just because a person chooses *NOT* to align themselves politically with any major party hardly implies they are not of sound mind.

After reading your replies, it is obvious to me you are nothing but a lemming and will blindly and happily follow your fearless socialist leaders over the cliff, just as the stubborn Republican supporters will do the same with their leaders.

It is all about power, corruption and nothing more. Period. Honestly, you talk a pretty good game which makes it all the more surprising that someone like you doesn't at least get that part of it.

Exactly. I AM SO GLAD that I don't have to be registered with any particular party here in Indiana. If I want to vote in a Democratic primary, I can do so. I'm not tethered at all and, considering what's gone on in Washington over the last few years, I'm happier than ever to not be affiliated with either major party.

No one should EVER follow any party blindly. That is the quickest way to tyranny.
