Did you guys see the David Letterman show with Prince that aired a few years ago? Prince came on and did one of his songs. Once he finished, he started walking over to Letterman, Letterman reached out to shake his hand and Prince's body guard shoved Letterman back about 2 feet! Prince just stood there like "I know he doesn't think he's gonna touch my hand!". Letterman kicked his ass off of the show right then and there! He was pissed as hell! Lol!!! I can't remember when it was, but it's been at least 7 or 8 years ago(it seems).

Now I really can't stand the asshole. Letterman is one of my favorites. Fuck Prince. I can't believe I didn't hear about that. I'm glad Letterman kicked his dumb ass off the show.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

HaHa! It was quite a while ago, but I remember being shocked when I saw it! I was thinking WTF just happened here? Even Letterman was shook up by the whole thing. He didn't know what to say once he kicked him off! I don't remember if they took it to commercial, but it was a mess! I bet he hasn't been back on that show!

Prince gave away his last cd at his shows, so this is nothing new for him. He's definitely breaking ground at getting his music out to the masses. I don't believe he has much love left for the music industry. He just wants to make music and get it into the hands of his fans.

If I remembre right, when he gave away his last album he was using those numbers to boost album sales numbers. Caused the industry to re-evaluate how it counted sales. For it to count as sales, at the time of purchase they have to say the cost of the cd is being included in the cost of the ticket.

Yea, wouldn't be great if a Letterman bodyguard had come bolting right out and blasted the bodyguard?

I got this CD free in the newspaper yesterday - and there's nothing on it which would induce me to listen to it again. [I do like some Prince stuff but this is pretty boring IMO.]
Maybe he just thought, "it's not so good, but I've made it now, so I may as well press a few copies and give it away."

Born in England. What a voice!

Fucking totally sexy too. Damn that man sends me when he's in concert. He puts on one HELL of a show. When it's him & Marcus up there, it's almost too much for a hot-blooded woman.

OT - More on Prince Does It Again

Postby CatEyes » Wed Jul 18, 2007 2:47 am

http://music.msn.com/music/ListeningBooth?GT1=10190

His banner is in rotation at msn.com - click on it and it takes you to the above site (this is not a boot site)

It is MSN's listening booth.

The featured artist is Prince and his "Planet Earth" - this is not samples. The selection is 45 minutes.

The entire thing - free

The fan/customer can listen to it and decide to buy.

I do not think that the fan being able to listen to it will hurt sales - hell, it may even help.

I will be watching the sales to see how they go.

P.S. The little man is a maniac/genius on this one.

Every time I see him playing guitar on TV I think "Why the fuck don't I listen to this guy?" And then I listen to one of his albums and it's got about as much guitar on it as a Depeche Mode album. Not that I don't enjoy a lot of music without prominent guitar, but it's clearly Prince's best musical skill and it seems to be the one he utilizes least on his records.
