Come on now Susie. He described Springsteen right on the money!!! He DOES sound like he is constipated.
In addition to that, I think his songs are extremely boring and they all sound alike.
So to me he is the Boss of Boring! :)

Well some of these guys "need" to tour more than others (Journey is commonly mentioned) but they all do it for the "need" to maintain a certain lifestyle.

He really can perform at that level. Maybe not quite every nite on a tour but his voice is not THAT much different most nites & he doesnt look that much different, just 15 yrs older. The clips of Run To You don't exhibit a huge difference 1992-2007. Sorry.

He sounds like he is holding back in those clips, like he thinks he is going to blow a vocal cord or something like that. His singing lacks the passion it used to have, at least in those examples.

Just listening to Steve on FTLOSM CD this past weekend, and I believe he lost vocal strength between that CD and TBF, and if I were to attribute it to anything, I would say his tour in '94 (whcih I saw from the 3rd row thank you very much!!!) had to have something to do with that.

Not that I would blame him one bit if he never toured again or sang live either, but I think the rigors of touring ultimately have taken its toll on his voice.

And I, too have thought about the possibilities of surgery if indeed he has nodules on his cords down there, but we don't know anything of the sort.

Finally, the fella is in his LATE 50's, too, so some slack please!!!

That's no excuse...He needs to record some new music and then get himself, along with his bionic hip, back out on the road and sing until his throat explodes. Jon has been quoted as saying that Perry would "bleed a little" every time he sang, so how much better could it be? Steve gives up the ghost while singing his last note.

Can he have one night where he's not perfect & absolutely up to the standards (in ur mind) of his studio recordings from a long time ago?

I will fight HARD for Bryan & Bruce, I know. B/c I know these men & have heard them perform in very small settings for very good causes & have been blown away at their talents.

BA can buy Journey over 25 times. He is loaded to the gills. Journey is broke...seriously, they are broke and NEED to tour.

And to you Toads who say Bruce is boring I say Fuck you. Dude is the Messiah of Music. His songs have a meaning behind them, unlike sappy girl boy shit in Journey.

It's what rocknroll IS.

Dave, don't read any further below HERE, but:

Well some other clown on this forum would read what u wrote & take it as gospel. In a few days, they'd post "Bryan Adams doesn't sing w/the passion he used to & that's been proven on this forum" as if it was their own opinion. So I stood up for Bryan, so there's another opinion on record here, ok? :-)

Lighten up Dave.

That's exactly what's happened with Journey for a year and half now and I DO understand your point.

You lost all respect for me, huh? Whatever. It's what I think, nothing more. Your closeness to these guys obviously leaves you unable to give an honest review. I youtubed a boatload of 2006 and 2007 BA songs and they almost sound acoustic. I'm not ripping the guy, in fact I said he still sounds good, but it's obvious that he's protecting his voice. He can't "belt" it out like he once could. All you have to do is listen to hear he's holding back. And for the record, I am really fucking pissed about your "Respect" comment to me. I thought we were cool.
