OK, so i'm a little biased but this programme consisted of Elvis in Hawaii, Elvis 1968 Comeback, Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, some serious performances, yet nothing came close to the audience reaction to that of this Queen performance at Wembley. What adds to this being the greatest live performance is that this audience was a neutral crowd, not a Queen audience!

The scene during "radio ga ga," where the whole audience claps together, is one of the greatest live moments I've ever seen. It really does give me chills every time I see it. Henry Rollins said in the clip “…It's like a Nuremberg Rally…,” and it really is, lol. Freddie had that crowd totally under his spell.

QUEEN and Freddie - just unreal.

The songs QUEEN performed were made popular through the radio and touring - being WITH people LIVE. It seems to me that the internet is destroying that "organic" relationship that artists NEED and WANT to have with their audiences.

I wonder how Freddie would've dealt with the internet. Would he have been able to master it like he did music videos? Would he have been a pioneer? Sure miss the guy.

Its very rare that a performer has it all these days, and Freddie was certainly a guy who ticked every box!

Of course there have been some fantastic Rock singers over the years, but Mercury was so much more than that...along with that all powerful voice, he was the ultimate showman, able to connect with a crowd of any size and also what people tend to forget he was a fantastic musician too!

Miss him loads!

But that performance was one in a million. The stars were in alignment that day. It was the definition of perfect.

One of the best images from the Wembley gig (not the Live Aid one) was towards the end of Crazy Little Thing there's an aerial shot (from a plane, helicopter, or blimp--not sure which) from waaaaaaay up above the stadium. The way the lights on stage were flashing and the movement of the crowd, in time with the music it makes the stadium look like it's actually rocking. It must have been such a fun gig!

I was lucky enought to have attended the gig the night before that one which was filmed! It was my very first live concert and what a way to start!

Enjoyed it so much i immediately booked my second concert a few weeks later...Queen live at Knebworth! Little did i know this was to be the very last concert the band ever played with Freddie.

This is one of my favourite performances...again showing off that incomparable voice! It was filmed at London's Earl's Court back in 1977, a show that fan's are praying is still in it entirety on tape and in line for a DVD release sometime in the future.

Can you think of any other singer that has dabbled in nearly all musical genres and fitted like hand in glove with each? To me this is the sign of the perfect vocalist.

Pure vocal genius! Like Roger Daltry said in one of the YouTube clips: "He could sing a hard rockin' line and then in the next line, he could sing as pure as a chiorboy, and he could change in a snap!"

a truley wonderful album is their very last ..MADE IN HEAVEN.. recorded when mercury was very ill... but its a masterpiece..you have to listen all the way through it , until it ejects.. a couple of gems at the very end..
