I would think that with things going well, you would want to keep things the same.
Oh and the other thread about MSG songs being played.....NO!!!! To compare Hagar and Phil Collins solo stuff to MSG is just wrong!! Sammy Hagar was a WELL established solo artist before and after VH. Phil Collins was a multi-platinum solo artist during and after Genesis. Robin McCauley was the lead singer of a band, since said band he's done nothing of note,if you want to use that criteria then the lead singer of AH-HA should fall into that same group. Afterall his group has a hit that was bigger internationally then anything MSG ever put out.
If I go to a show...I want to hear that band's music, not a hoge-poge of stuff from other groups. I mean where would it stop? Since Eddie Van Halen played on Micheal Jackson's Beat It does that mean VH should play Beat It?

Here's the thing. Just when we have a consensus that Robin is getting better with Survivor, we're hit with another controversy.![]()
Seriously though, our comments will have no bearing on whether Survivor doing MSG tunes will be a welcome treat for fans on both sides or not. One thing is for sure, its going to be a sight to behold when Frankie plays the solos that some fans will compare with Michael Schenker. Remains to be seen right?

I think it is great Survivor will play more guitar driven songs. Also for all those that accuse Frankie of being selfish I think it is very telling he wants to include Robin's work. I think Frankie needs to be complimented and not criticized. The same people would have raved if anything off of Empires had been played.

No problem with me on Robin , however, I am very curious what FS will on the solos for MSG tunes.
Meanwhile, any idea whether FS and MS are mutual friends by any chance? They've a common friend in Frank Filipetti as far as I am aware and FF and FS are very close.

And as for the Empires played by Survivor live thing, dunno about others but I wouldn't want to hear Survivor do that if Jamo was singing. Not w/ 8 full albums of Survivor material to do justice to.
Red13JoePa wrote:Nope, haven't heard it but I do intend to.
I'll get hold of it soon.

He worked with the Scorpions (the Band of his Brother Rudolf), with UFO and he had/still have the Michael Schenker Group. For a short period he worked together with Robin McAuley as the McAuleySchenkerGroup.
I remember a show review when the author wrote after a Schenker and Joe Satriani gig that Satriani didn´t played him against the wall, he nailed him.
My opinion is that Michael is a good worker but there are a lot of better guitarists. Of course I´m proud as a german (or like Red would say "Kraut") that we have such a caliber like Schenker but I wouldn´t call him a "legend" or "god".
