My thoughts are that they'll do a tour with Jeremey and then record. Unless they are just ready to hang their hat on the bedpost, they will record with Jeremey. I'm not sure how much the guys have left in the tank though. When you've been doing it this long, I can't imagine how they can't be burned out. It's got to be a pretty sweet life though, going out and doing what you love and having fans scream their praises. Plus the other unmentionable side benefits. I'm sure you can get burned out on anything though.

In December 2007, Journey will make an announcement that they are denying all rumors that there will be any announcement and in the exact same paragraph they will announce that Andrew McNiece will be making the announcement about the new lead singer in an announcement on Melodicrock.com.

Andrew's announcement will be that Journey has made no announcement as of yet but the big announcement will be forthcoming. And Neal will deny hearing about any announcement because he has tinnitis and didn't hear any announcement through his in ear monitors.

Interviewer: Is it true u fired Jeff Scott Soto w/out explanation?

Neal Schon: I don't know what went down. I was on the phone w/Jon Cain, he said Jeff was conferenced in. B/c of my tinnitus I did not have Jeff's voice in my ear monitors. I don't know what was said. All I know is Jon said Jeff is out of the band.

It depends on what you mean by "downfall". I don't think it will happen instantly, but eventually 80's nostalgia was not be such an 'in' thing. If Journey relies on ONLY that, there will be nothing left when the trend ends.

If that were true, then it would make no difference if they played new songs, or not. The truth is that if Journey strays into new songs, or even obscure old songs, the crowd stops paying attention. Nothing killed the show I saw with JSS more then "Dead or Alive" and "Edge of the Blade".

People want the nostalgia, not "songs performed live".
