if steve perry DID rejoin journey what is the setlist?

i think in my honest opinion they would need to cover the years 1978-1986 ONLY.

INFINITY THROUGH RAISED ON RADIO should be the time period.

here is my personal setlist i wouldlike to see.......

1-don't sop believin'
2-stone in love
3-any way you want it
4-lights
5-line of fire
6-escape
7-seperate ways
8-faithfully
9-patiently
10-open arms
11-lovin' touchin squeezin
12-wheel in the sky
13-who's cryin' now
14-happy to give
15-mother father
16-be good to yourself

An exercise in futility I'm afraid and saddened to say. Pointless thread!

Looks like the set list they've been playing non-stop for the last ten years....except for Patiently and Happy To Give.

Well, let's entertain the thoughts then..... this is probably a more realistic setlist:

1. Separate Ways
2. You Better Wait
3. I'll Be Alright Without You
4. Girl Can't Help It
5. When You Love A Woman
6. Easy To Fall
7. Send Her My Love
8. Stone In Love
9. Wheel In The Sky
10. Oh Sherrie
11. After The Fall
12. Foolish Heart
13. Missing You
14. Faithfully
15. Castles Burning
Encore
16. Message of Love
17. Be Good To Yourself

I really suck at playlists, but my point is, you'd hear more late 80's and 90's stuff than you would the earlier stuff. I think Perry would pick more songs for his matured range than earlier songs.

IF Steve Perry ever rejoined Journey, they could sing anything their little hearts desired.

My only request would be that their last song performed for that evening is ESCAPE - played nice and loud - and twice :!: :!:

Pure elation, as it would signify that the "golden goose" was singing it. The tour would also afford Neal 1 more failed marriage.

i think that would be pretty interesting if they added a few things like oh sherrie or you better wait.those are pretty good songs even though they are solo steve.

Sorry, No dream set list for me. Fantasy Island was canceled 20 years ago. And as far as I know there is about as much hope of a reunion of Montalban, and Villachez as there is of a reunion of Perry and Journey.

I think it would sound pretty good live. I wonder how Neal felt about Journey having to do Oh Sherrie back on the ROR tour?

What's interesting about that? They've already done that.
Oh Sherrie and Strung Out were done on the ROR tour.
Later on in the tour they even added Foolish Heart.

Since it's never ever gonna happen though, I guess it doesn't matter anymore. :?

Another reason that the ROR tour wasn't one of their better ones....

Great post by the way. Would take some thought....

I always thought this is the one that would have been cool as a Journey song. Neal's voice singing the sort of sinister line Perry did with the lower voice leading into the chorus.

4 Solos out of 17 songs ain't bad. But considering that this is probably part of the deal that Neal and Jon would have to agree with if Perry came back to the band. That was part of the point. That and the fact that Perry would probably stick with the later stuff.

Why don't you just throw in the whole damn ROR album??
--Just to remind Matthew we don't agree on everything.
Even if he were he able to, Perry still wouldn't perform rockers like KOR, LIT, Rubicon, EOTB, etc, not while there is a trite Positive Touch, Happy To Give or When I think of You lying around...

Some good choices there. Gawd, what I wouldn't give to have heard Perry do It Could Have Been You, LIVE! Love his vocal tone in that song. :)

Awful. Just awful.

One of those tunes that because it's jrny I HAVE to love it despite the utter pain it's caused me.
