Yes.

Cain created some of the best parts of this dead in the water band.

That's right.

Throw any new lead singer into the fray and they'll still never be Journey as we know them. It's Perry, Cain and Schon and that's the bottom line.

Spot on.

I don't give a fuck what's been said in this thread as I've no inclination to read it......

Yes, spare yourself from Susie's long-windedness. Good plan.

Matt you're a fuckin saint for stickin' to your guns about Cain, 100% right in what you say.

Thank you, Styxman.

You can hire a guitarist two to the penny but not a song writer with a clear vision like cain

 Neal Schon? Two a penny?

even though he looks pretty freakin' girlish.

I'll give you..nerdish. But not girlish.

Even JSS admits that he isn't fit to carry Steve Perry's umbrella - or whatever the expression was - and I think people forget that when they talk about Perry and JSS in the same breath.

U would really love to be in the middle of that man sandwich wouldn't u?

Susie - can you at least try not to sully the pure, spiritual experience that is 1980s Journey?

I think they could get Rolie & Perry back & do just as well w/out Fagga myself.

Yes. I'm sure Rolie could play Cain's hits competantly enough...even though he lost interest in this band 27 years ago.

The paint-splattered long coat was a popular choice amongst all discerning fashionistas in the mid-80s. And as we know...Jonathan Cain has always been 'bang on trend'.

Yes, the cliched nerd look is thick glasses, etc. But nerdishness can also be seen in the way a person moves - such as the awkward shuffle into the spotlight with the keytar during Schon' s solo on the BGTY video - and other such moments from Amadeus.

But he hasn't though, has he?

I think he would enjoy Jeff's music. Actually I believe Jeff also told a little story that indicates just that (remember how Perry bought Jeff's CD?). At least Perry gave Jeff a chance, unlike u Matty Lightshoes!

I went to see Journey with JSS live in concert. I've listened to Lost In Translation, The Ballads CD and a host of Talisman and solo tracks on You Tube, You Send It, My Space and so on.

No, I'm not expert on the guy's career but equally I've given JSS a chance. And I like him. But...I don't have the same admiration and affection for JSS as I do for the key members of Journey.

I guess I'm just not a flakey, blow in the wind type...

No, not everyone. But I think you'll find that certain members of the rock aristocracy - such as Chris Squire of Yes - were sporting paint-splattered longcoats in the mid-80s.

Matthew's right on this one. It was a typical 80s fashion faux pas. Point Matthew.

BTW, what's with the "Matty Lightshoes" comments? It doesn't make sense and it's nowhere near being funny. Just FYI...
