Fly Dude,

I was able to have a listen to whole cd tonight. The whole cd is much better than the clips I heard. There are a couple of tunes that were tuned down that I didn't care for. However, most of the songs were sung in there original key. I did get goose bumps a few times listening which to me says he still has it. I think he could do the Journey stuff now.

SJ, have you heard this cd in its entirety?

You're right. I haven't heard Chalfant live for a few years but I was disappointed that his Journey covers CD was tuned down. I was looking for the songs to be in the original key. Maybe he has lost it? He used to KICK ASS on those songs though. He was damn good a few years ago.

If he couldn't sing them in their original key with all of the magic that a studio has to offer he certainly couldn't do it live, night after night. I recently heard him sing DSB and it was atrocious. Kevin can no longer come CLOSE to singing the catalog and those that come to SB will have a chance to hear that firsthand. He now does a mediocre job singing Journey.

Have you heard the whole CD??? Just curious.

I've heard almost all of it, but more importantly, I heard him live. We'll discuss this when we're shitfaced in South Bend.

I thought you might change your mind when you heard it. South Bend will tell us a lot. I expect Kevin to be at the top of his game. Glad you liked it Aaron. I can't wait for Andrew's review of this CD.

I'm jealous of all you people going to the show!!! October is always a hell month for me to be able to take leave, and I'm sure I won't be able to go! Plus, I just closed on a house about a month ago, and moving/sod/land improvement etc... is killing the old checkbook!!!

I may find a way to get there, but if I don't...I better see some kick-ass reviews from some people on here!!!

Saturday. I'll probably have my 11 year old son in tow. He's a big melodicrock fan as well.

Fly Dude,

South Bend will be a very good indicator. Hopefully Kevin will be tuned up for the gig. Now if fuckin Drew would get Valentine on the bill!

Kevin is a great singer, but I don't see him or anyone else taking the helm of Journey for quite some time. I think Neal and Jon have learned their lesson. The magic is with Friga, Fro, and Fairy.

Jon Cain, Neal Schon, and Steve Perry. MAGIC!!!

I wasn't impressed with the clips either, and put off buying the cd till the last minute. But the cd is very good, VERY!!-ERIC
