Everyone knows when you go to a Rush show you are going to enjoy it. It wasn't my favorite Rush show but it was up there. Huge crowd. The place holds 18,000 and there had to be at least 15-16,000 there. The sound was fine although I thought they could have brought the guitar up some in the mix. The bass drum could have been brought down some also as it was too heavy. Awesome drum solo as always..a little bit shorter in length this tour but it was a high point of the show along with Witch Hunt, Spirit of Radio, Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Far Cry and Workin' Them Angels. I think Workin' Them Angels will be a staple for awhile. Good video and great song. Like at most shows with bands from that era, the classics songs are always the ones that get the crowd going. No different here. 8 new songs may have been a bit much but I can understand where they are coming from...they love the new stuff!
On a side note..I missed a grand opportunity. We were driving around downtown Portland and my friend says..hey look it's Geddy Lee. I'm thinking I'll look and see a guy that looks similar you know and as soon as I spotted him....IT WAS HIM! He was casually walking down the street by himself looking at the sites. Damn I wanted to stop but I didn't want to be one of THOSE people. Ha ha.
