Looks more long a long coat to me...I vote yes, only because there's no option for "Not gay, but definitely stupid-looking.

And we need two threads on this?

Oh well. Yes. It is "gayass". But it's a coat. That is no longer fashionable.

No. Misquoting me again. I did in fact say that the COAT was "gayass" in the other thread.

I don't care about the smock, but I do think between the smock and the keytar, JC is #2 only to BoyGeorge on the gaydar. HOWEVER, it is one of my faves because of how freakin' HOT SP is!!! It's definitely Neal's (dickhead  ) best look too.

Other than the fact that they're both types of coats, no, they look totally different.

Are they both "coats" or "smocks"? Matty says one is a coat, one is a smock. Which is it?

One's a jacket, the other one is more like something a Walmart greeter would wear. Completely different. Just admit it JR, you're wrong again!

Cain's looks more like a coat, something you might wear outside. The other one is a smock, something you'd typically wear inside.

I have always thought the smock was odd, but then so is the pink hat Mike Baird was wearing, the Grace Jones hairdo Randy Jackson has going on and particularly the bug eyes that Perry keeps showing in this video. It's like they all got together before taping and said let's all do something odd. And then Neal decided not to go along.

And yet, I still like the video. Weird.

LMAO! I hadn't made that connection before, but that is excellent.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

He should have been forbidden to wear it on stage. Same goes for Randy Jackson and his spandex pants.

Agree, Ratgirl. It was very 80's. But others pulled it off without looking dorky and gay--AT THE TIME. 8)

A good example of what I mean--Perry looked cool as hell in his mulit-colored tails and satin liners, etc. on the ROR tour. That was very 80's too, but the man pulled it off.
But Cain looked like a jackass.

GollyWally - I defy you to show us a picture of someone looking cool as hell wearing that coat. Even Chris Squire of Yes - who has always struck me as a pretty cool, undorkish guy - looked like an absolute ninny when he wore that coat.

I think that the band always dressed according to the times as the years rolled by and did a mighty fine job of it, even Augeri's red leather pants. They were always fun and never outrageous, imo.
