We are taking a little survery here for something big in 2008. As a radio listener what would you want to see as a promotion on a radio station? What prize would get you really worked up, enough to tell others and listen intently to win?

A few years ago I was working at this radio station and was asked to put together 2 different contests (questions were about the shows,DJs,contents of the shows, etc.) and I came up with 2 prizes: 1 year of free gas for anybody who had a driver license (1 full tank per month),the other prize was 1 year of free beer for anyone over 21 (a 6 pack per day for 365 days).![]()
Guess which prize was the most hunted? Many more thirsty listeners than drivers, that's for sure!
The ratings were sky high!

One of the ideas that has come up is "live free for a year". Us paying rent, groceries, utilites, etc.

Hmm, that has nothing to do with the question I asked...if you have something to contribute to THAT question, feel free to respond, but since you don't listen to radio, you probably don't.

I would suggest that the radio station take a survey to find out what people actually LIKE about radio, and what they DISLIKE. Then radio can be fine-tuned to better represent their listeners.
Nobody wants to hear the same song 4X an hour. Nobody wants to hear the same 2 tracks from an album. Remember 'Album sides'? Perhaps radio should go back to that format. Perhaps more in-studio guests. Like a 'Rockline' format. Perhaps a contest, or SET of contests where the winner(s) would get to pick out the programming for that day? For starters......

you'd have to get the BMW dealership to work with ya a bit for $15K, but I bet they'd meet ya with the rest for the free ads.
