Gay.. yes but totally 80s.
If I remember right that's what everyone was wearing.

Agree, Ratgirl. It was very 80's. But others pulled it off without looking dorky and gay--AT THE TIME. 8)

A good example of what I mean--Perry looked cool as hell in his mulit-colored tails and satin liners, etc. on the ROR tour. That was very 80's too, but the man pulled it off.
But Cain looked like a jackass.

GollyWally - I defy you to show us a picture of someone looking cool as hell wearing that coat. Even Chris Squire of Yes - who has always struck me as a pretty cool, undorkish guy - looked like an absolute ninny when he wore that coat.

Are you talking about Perry or Cain? If you're talking about Cain, I totaly agree. If you're talking about Perry, I respectfully disagree. But I know I'm heavilly biased because I'm a big Perry fan and if the guy got up on stage wearing Thomas the Tank Engine pajamas I'd probably think he looked cool! <<<The last remark is hyberbole, but you get my point!>>>

I was talking about Jonathan Cain and his coat.....and your point that other people pulled off that look successfully in the 1980s...

Oh no...I'm getting sucked into the coat conversation again...time to step away from the computer!

Oh geeze - it reminded me of Boy George, too. I don't think he wore a coat, but it certainly was similar in pattern to Friga's Frock.

It was fashionable in '86. Is Perry's cheetah print shirt fashionable now? Uh, no!

Gotta disagree with you here...NONE of us pulled it off!!! Next time you think that, just bust out your old highschool pictures! And for the record, that thing Perry was wearing was not his usual tux w/tails...it was a SILK BLOUSE with tails. Everyone looked bad in the video (Except during the 80's when we didn't know any better!).

If you want to see GAY,

HERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't that what he wore under his red tux jacket?? Kinda like a liner. I thought I remembered some pictures where he had both on initially, and then once things warmed up (and he got really wild-eyed), the jacket came off and the 'silk blouse' stayed on. Seemed to be custom made for that particular outfit.

I don't know if that was a tux liner, but if it was...he should have kept the tux ON!!! Ha Ha! That looked gay as hell, but this is coming from someone who had a mullet w/my hair feathered back in the 80's. I thought I looked cool as hell!!! LMAO!

You gotta love the 80's style! The clothes, the music, the mullets, the perms!

We've gotten mighty boring with our styles as of late! I say we all pull together and bring back the permed mullets, paint splashed coats, and stone washed jeans!

Gotta disagree with you here...NONE of us pulled it off!!! Next time you think that, just bust out your old highschool pictures! And for the record, that thing Perry was wearing was not his usual tux w/tails...it was a SILK BLOUSE with tails.

LMAO!

Hey, we would have all thought you looked cool. Ignorance is bliss  . I started out with Joe Elliot's 'do and then morphed into Nancy Wilson's big hair. I keep the pictures hidden. What were WE thinking?

HaHaHA!!!

Is anything more 80s mullet than this?

Is that you TJ?

No. I could grow that much hair if I lived at hair club for men 24/7.
