I think that calling it tragic is insulting to real tragedies!

T-Bone wrote:My erply wasn't a jab at Kim at all.. I personally reserve the word tragedy for things such as accidents that involve deaths and such things like that. What happened to Jeff was uncalled for and a complete injustice on the bands part. I side with you, but I use different words

Hi all
Just wanted to vent for a second.
Maybe it’s just me - but I'm still trying to get past what happened to JSS.
I don’t know how people feel - maybe it’s my naivety to the music business,
But it still disturbs me. Its unfair that people are allowed to treat others with such disrespect and are allowed to get away with it because its 'the biz' That one little phrase is supposed to mean certain people are exempt from behaviors and
common human decency.
I guess I would assume the 'old timer' bands would have more class than this.
If you want to let someone go, (albeit as insane as that was) have the decency to be professional and respectful. And I think that is what is so tragic.
Old school bands that stick together through thick and thin (like Def Leppard and like I thought, Journey) were impressive and inspiring to fans.
Unfortunately Journey has become the epitome of the phrase 'the biz.'
So sad..

Girl, 12, who died after being struck by softball had artery tear

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A 12-year-old softball player who died a day after being hit in the head with a ball at practice suffered a tear in an artery that caused a hemorrhage on the surface of her brain, an autopsy revealed.
Margaret Ruth "Maggie" Hilbrands was hit by a ground ball during a routine infield drill on Monday — a day after the death of a minor-league baseball coach who was struck by a line drive in Arkansas. The Grand Rapids girl died Tuesday at DeVos Children's Hospital.
Dr. David Start, a forensic pathologist with the Kent County medical examiner's office, said Thursday the impact of the ball caused Maggie to jerk her head to the side, resulting in a tear of an artery.
Maggie had been set to enter the seventh grade this fall at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School. She had been practicing with teammates on the Lowell Xtreme traveling softball team.
