Gotta disagree with you on this one SJ! I don't think it's a BAD song, just not better IMHO! BTW, how'd they get that many homo's (not that there's anything wrong with that!) together in one spot? That's what amazes me! LOL!!!

What? That is an awesome song. Bob & Midge did an incredible job w/it. Let's not forget it was THEIR idea. MJ copied them.

Who's a homo? There are only 2 in there! If u called some of the other folks a home, they'd kick ur ass from here to eternity buddy. Here's the participants:

Bono, Adam Clayton, Phil Collins, Bob Geldof, Simon Crowe, Johnny Fingers, Pete Briquette, Steve Norman, Tony Hadley, Martin Kemp, Gary Kemp, Chris Cross, Midge Ure, John Taylor, Paul Young, Glenn Gregory, Martyn Ware, Simon Le Bon, Andy Taylor, Nick Rhodes, Roger Taylor, Marilyn, Keren Woodward, Sarah Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, Jody Watley, Paul Weller, James Taylor, George Michael, Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Robert Bell ("Kool"), Jon Moss, Boy George, Holly Johnson, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Stuart Adamson, Bruce Watson, Tony Butler, Mark Brzezicki.

No way is "We are the World" a better song. "Feed the World" was a lot more to the point lyrically, and it's a way better melody.
I'd have loved to have heard Perry on THAT song. We are the world makes me cringe every time I hear it, especially Willy Nelson, Dylan, and Springsteen's parts. Willy should have done another take because he could've sang it better. Bob and Bruce... well, you're only going to get so much vocally out of them aren't you?
Somebody probably mentioned this, but there's a great clip of Jeremy doing We are the World. Funny stuff.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

LOL!!! Sorry if you took offense, and you're right...there probably weren't TOO many homo's in there, but they sure LOOKED like it! You know what they say in the Army..."Don't ask-don't tell"!!!

I still like "We are the world" better! We all have different ears and musical tastes, but it just sounds better to me. I've always been a huge fan of about half the people in that song, and I think it's amazing the way it was laid out to give the song continuity, while retaining each individual performance. Very cool!

I'm getting off subject here but Rhodes looks like the sixth member of DefLep from the cd booklet of Euphoria...don't think any of those guys are gay but they all -except maybe Viv-looked it in those pics.

I don't think he's ever been married but I could be wrong. Last I heard he was doing an actress, Meredith Ostrom, who was in Love Actually & Alfie.

No one in particular, though I can see that a bit, just saying that they looked gay in those photos-at least Phil, Sav & Joe-and that Rhodes would have fit in those pics with them.

Absolutely.

It's a shame also that some chose to ridicule Geldolf as "Saint Bob"

Some portray Geldoff as the villain in Michael Hutchence's death.

Oh, that's right you were probly there.

You're the Forrest Gump of this music mssg board.

Never said I bought the Hutchence faction's story just said it exists.

Personally I think Augeri did it right before he jetted off to Hawaii and hipchecked perry off that mountain bike but that's a story for another thread.

Willie's decent at 'what he does'. He's definitely not a conventional singer. I really don't dig his voice much at all, but I think he's a great guy, so I cut him slack.

Is that a Guy or a Girl?

Postby tj » Tue Jul 31, 2007 6:21 am

I just watched these clips with my 14 year old daughter (who's pretty sheltered). When Michael Jackson showed up, she said "Dad, is that a guy or a girl?". I said both.
