metallica has recently been playing all of master of puppets album in concert.i think a few other bands like queensryche did this too by playing all of operation mindcrime.i think it would be cool if journey played again to start off one night maybe playing the entire infinity album before playing the rest of the setlist.maybe the next night do all of frontiers or escape.that means quite a few obscure songs make it in the setlist.i think its a great idea......

I think they tried the obscure songs format at the start of the 30th anniversary tour. Not a whole album, but stuff off the first 3 albums that most of the crowd didn't know or want to hear. I seem to recall Jon or Neal saying that they had to eliminate a bunch of the old stuff because the fans kept going to get more beer, bathroom, etc. until the dirty dozen started.

DT has done this before too, even going as far as playing entire Pink Floyd albums
from start to finish But Ryche rules this idea; OM I and II are masterpieces with
an outstanding storyline... They could make for one hella broadway production
if done right/not watered down.

Porcupine Tree played their entire new album at their show in Cleveland on May 17th.

At the Journey show in Cincinnati last year on July 25th, I think they played 7 out of 10 songs on Escape, but not necessarily in order. They did everything off that album but "Mother, Father," "Still They Ride," and "Lay It Down."

Journey played 7 of 10 for Escape, and 8 of 10 for Frontiers and 4 of ten for ROR. Of those, it was probably a good idea to leave off Dead or Alive, Lay it down, Frontiers, Troubled Child, Once You Love Someone, Could Have Been You, Eyes of a Woman and Happy to Give, don't you think? Those songs, while some decent, aren't exactly heart stoppers.

REO played the first side of Hi Infidelity, in order, in 2003 for the Main Event. That was cool. The thing is nowadays, there is no first side or second side. Can you see Journey coming out to thunderous applause and playing side 2 of Generations?

Out of Harms Way is next, and people are still watching Elson work his magic. Better Together is next, and people are watching Neal make those pissed off faces to his sound man...Never happy dwarf is hysterical when he is pissed. The midget's little widget is out of tune. Looks to be taking a dump in his pants. Beyond the Clouds rounds out the set, and the BT ers are swaying back and forth like cute little 2 ton African elephants knee deep in custard filling.

I think it's a cool idea on paper...but unless it's a concept piece like Mindcrime or Dream Theater's "Scenes From A Memory," I think it's kind of boring.

Part of the fun of concerts is not knowing what's next (which kinda sucks for bands that play the same fucking setlist every single night...Genesis anyone?)...the surprise of hearing an obscure song you love, or the massive crowd euphoria when U2 plays "Streets" or Springsteen launches "Born To Run"...if everyone knew they were coming, I don't think it'd be as cool.

I like the idea of a concert as something completely separate from a studio record...I like that songs that work as 1st tracks on an album can't really be used to open shows, and how some random album track can turn into a breathtaking concert opener or set closer in concert.

Brian Wilson did Smile a couple of years ago in its entirety. If a band is going to do it, it should be announced prior to ticketsales. Certainly would be a treat for die hard fans, but may be troublesome for the casual fan. I saw Brian Wilson do Smile. First act was all Beach Boys and they returned for the second act for the entire Smile album.

Bad part is...Waters' voice SUCKS. STILL. I'm sure he's gotten some bass lessons in the past 20 years or so...'cause he sucked at that as well. I KNOW that Gilmore is the "Newbie", but he was the best thing that could've happened to that band musically. Lyrically?? Yea..I WILL give that to Waters. AND...I'm one of the fans that hate the Wall as MUCH as the Final Cut. That's a LOT, BTW.
"Lapse" and "Division" are STILL the best Floyd albums to come out since Wish You Were Here. Well...MAYBE Animals.

I think Coming Home is the only one they didn't play, ever...I think they actually left Peephole out of a couple of their later US shows, I would have been pissed if I'd been at one of those shows.

Roger Waters has always been a horrible singer, so him sounding like crap wouldn't be much different than anything he's done in the past. However, I don't listen to Pink Floyd's music to hear good singing. His voice just goes with their music.

Last two “real” Pink Floyd records? To me and a lot of Pink Floyd fans out there the last two “real” Pink Floyd records were Animals & The Wall. The Final Cut , while it may be great, is more like a Roger Waters solo album because the other two had very little input and Richard Wright wasn't even in the band anymore. To be honest if I had to choose between The Final Cut & The Division Bell I would choose the latter.

I love The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking & Radio K.A.O.S because he is not forcing his same old tired left wing political agenda. Hell not even Lennon harped about War as much as he did in songs.
