Ahhhh from the Bammies! That makes sense. You can see all their equipment cases piled up near the instruments, so everything looks hastily set up.

At the very end of the vid, it sounds like they jump from Party's Over into "Where Were You" so there is at least one more song they performed that night. Someone must have the entire performance, no?

Give me 5 minutes and I will send you a PM with the link of those I go to. You will find that most of the sites will have other artists, and one will have just Journey only. :D

Great Story, "Story Teller" ...The thing with Smith, that many people have echoed in conversation, are comments like: 'What was he doing in a Top 40 / Rock band??" Simple answer..'Putting food on the table!'...Still though, Journey couldn't have asked for a better drummer. I don't know how much I buy into the 'he had to learn to play with a click for the ROR sessions", that sounds more like an 'inside joke'.. (Seriously listen to any ballad Smith played on, including Bryan Adams 'Heaven', I'm surprised he didn't do more 'session' work...guess Jeff Porcaro and Mike Baird (yuck! (on the latter, not Jeff) had that market covered...) But as Perry alluded to in the Behind the Music, if the 'thought' the music deserved a certain direction, he went for it...He must of targeted the 'rythm' section a problem. This idea would've worked if Perry was in a band like 'Steely Dan', but, sadly, he wasn't. He messed with a near perfect formula....We should've gotten the "Freedom" album (and if the Time 3 cut 'Liberty' is any indication, this could've been one of their best)

Hmmm.... I wouldn't mind knowing about the one with just Journey only... ;) If you have a chance to send it - would love to see it.

One of my favorite clips of Smith, doing a solo on the hi-hat. Even more impressive seeing it done live...

Perry has publicly admitted that letting Smitty go was a huge mistake. Smith must not have held a grudge because he returned for the TBF project and then bailed specifically because Perry couldn't/wouldn't tour. So Smith didn't even want to be involved in the band without Perry.

Very cool. I never got to Smitty play live - didn't see Journey live until ROR and when I saw The Storm, he had just left the group. He is an amazing talent. Loved the one comment on the page - "God drums through Steve Smith."

When I saw him do it live, he actually rolled the left stick through his fingers and up and down his forearm while playing his right stick off of it (just like he did off of his foot in the video). And he did it perfectly. Un-effing-believable.
