Considering I don't support what they've done and I don't support the direction they're taking the band, the answer to the question is a no-brainer.

I might feel differently with Steve Perry or Soto but I don't see that happening. So they're outta luck, and I can't in good conscience economically reward their behavior.

no its not pathetic... most people go for the music now days

Flew right over your head. My point is that people who can just get back onboard for the sake of getting back onboard are fucked. I am talking about people who KNOW what happened, Rick....They know of the assfucking that happened. People HERE on this Board who were supposed to have supported the good in the band, only want to continue for what reason? What fucking reason? Do they honestly think they will hear something new? An old gem like WCTNGF? Do they honestly think the "new singer" will be better than Jeff? Like I said, why would certain people like Red 13 and St John continue, especially when there will be NO new music? To hear DSB, .........................again?

Journey had a chance to become valid again. They are merely there, no direction, no conviction and no soul. They are a joke. All 5 of them. They basically said-

"fuck our fans. They eat up anything we do....they will still come out, get hammered and watch us go through the motions, again."

And their right. Even here, certain posters say they will still go see the same old show, even though they buitch about setlists and the dirty dozen.

Jeff wouldn't have done that. He would want to write, create a new path, a different road taken, and do something to make the band alive and valid again. You people were all on board if I recall. You all were yelling out for certain songs, Winds of March, Opened the Door, and Lovin You is Easy. Now, you want anything this band does, even if it's the same ol' shit. Wow, that excites me!

you are right of course... but my thought process that only .000001% of the fan base will not be in attendence at any one show in the next year, heck only 000001% of the fan base even knows what took place this past year... If I am wrong... I will admit it... but I dont think I am, there will still be 5,000-12,000 people at anyone show in 08, if packaged with the right band... It wont be Queen now after Brian May's comment... Any other Great American Classic Rock act will bring in attendence.

I would sell hat, ass and overcoat, to attend another Journey/Perry concert.

I have gone out of curiosity, with the last two replacements but never again. The guys have lost their ability to give a tight performance that I expect from them and it's obvious that only Perry can show them how it's done. JMHO

Tix would probably cost more than $1.98.

I'll have to look up my take on it. I know that I posted here about it in Oct. of last year. Deen was the guy that stole the show, as I recall. To sit through two of Jon's solo's was a waste of time and not what I would go to a Journey concert for. Most of the fans were DL and it was hardly a sold out arena. JSS was alright. Augeri was better as a Perry replacement but neither were good enough to get me interested in the band again.
For anyone to say that JSS was let go because he was overshadowing Schon and Cain is farfetched. Any new material would just not have been what people want Journey to sound like and the guys know this by now. If it's not Perry and does not resemble Perry in any way, it's not Journey, imo.

That was not a very thought out expression to use. I'll change it to "I"d sell my soul." How about, "Make a pact with the Devil?"

No offense to Jeremey, who really has a beautiful voice. I'd love to hear that voice on some original material. There are so many Journey tribute bands, there is one right here in the Bay Area - and no, I don't mean the original band.

:)

Just curious, what is the name of the Journey tribute band in the Bay Area? Where do they play most often? Wouldn't mind checking them out some time.

Yes, I will see them again anytme they visit the southeast US. I have never been to a bad Journey concert and I believe in keeping an open mind. Had I let my hesitations about Augeri keep me away then I would have missed a great show a couple years ago. Although no Journey show (or any other concert for that matter) can stand up to the Journey, Aerosmith, and Bryan Adams show at the Orange Bowl in Miami in 1983! What a mind blowing, life changing show that was!!! And Aerosmith was in their "opening act" stage then between the glory years of the 70s and the "Dude" period of 1987.
