I went through a purge of my CD library a few years ago and wound up tossing both of the ones I owned. The first one featured material co-written with some of the guys from Ten and I thought it was the better of the two. This was off the old Now and Then record label before it was absorbed by Frontiers records of Italy.
He's got a good voice but I thought he was a bit lightweight for me. But I also thought the first Steve Perry solo record was crap too. I remember being all excited at listening to a tape of it until I actually put it in the tape player and wanted to rip it right back out. It was at that dawning moment that I realized that Steve Perry was not Journey.
But yeah, Hugo definitely has the Perry clone-a-bility down pat. He was really, really good that way and maybe he still is.
