Maybe since we are hearing nothing from the band, it means that they are holed up somewhere writing a new cd, and practicing for the big tour which they will announce soon. Or maybe they are just doing nothing and wasting another year.

we'll see............

Drew says there is an interview coming up in GW.

EDDIE VAN HALEN SET TO TALK POST-REHAB:
Eddie Van Halen has made his second official statement of 2007 with a brief update to the Van Halen website. His statement reads: "I want to say thank you to all the Van Halen fans for the tons of emails and all the support they provided when I was in rehab earlier this year. It was an intensely personal thing that I'm not really comfortable talking about right now, but I want everyone to know that their support has and always will mean the world to me. I want everyone to know that I am truly grateful."

And Ed will deliver his first post-rehab interview to Guitar World Magazine when the September issue hits newsstands June 26. On the Guitar World website, the following message appears:
"Eddie Van Halen emerges from rehab with a new outlook on life—not to mention a brand-new amp: the EVH 5150 III. In his first post-rehab interview, presented in the September 2007 issue of Guitar World, Van Halen discusses the new three-channel amp from his EVH brand of guitars, amps and musical products, and thanks his fans for their support during his time in the facility.
“Their support has and always will mean the world to me. I want everyone to know that I am truly grateful. As you can see in the accompanying photo, Ed looks fitter and happier than he has in years."

Indeed he does!

Screw edvh..he's a joke.
He has singlehandedly destroyed this band.
Nobody cares about him or his pathetic effort to salvage a re union.
Why anybody bothers with this guy is beyond me.

I care. EVH is a musical genius. Often, with musical genius, comes psychological instability. It has always been worth the wait for me.

It's not like I am sitting home watching the clock and clutching my red and white rosary waiting for the band's return.

Of course, the band is dysfunctional, but a healthy and sober EVH who seems to have his priorities straight is worth sitting up and taking notice of, albeit with an "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude. I will start getting excited when a new VH album with DLR or Sammy is in the works. THAT'S more important to me than a tour.

Bingo.

now that he's well, DON'T JUST tour. Put out a new album to tour behind. It's fucking exciting for me to think about picking up the new music w/ Dave where the dark, heavy MWM and CGTSNM left off.

Yeah, that's how I feel, too. CGTSNM has been playing in my car a lot these past few months. Great tune.

Hell, yea or with Sammy go in the Humans Being/7th Seal vein. Get ballsy and come back dark, menacing and HEAVY.

With Ed's new outlook on life, we'll probably get something more like Dance the Night Away or Big Bad Bill...

LOL, how totally COOL is that tune, though :?:

So UNVH that it could ONLY be VH. Love the horns and Dave's bluesy/jokey delivery.

Sam isn't coming back for at least the next year and a half. That leaves Diamond Dave, Gary, or Moe Syszlak. Hopefully Edward's sober enough to know on whose locomotive to hitch the proverbial VH rocket train.

Ed and VH should come back with a really dark album called "Sorry!" and have a 400 page insert thanking all the people that have been patiently waiting for a new cd from them.

I liked MWM and CGTSNM too, but I fucking loved that Balance sound...all angry and shit. Humans Being was played in my truck constantly, even during the Cherone years. I agree that a new record would really be better than another reunion tour. I miss the days when we all couldn't wait for the next VH release. I guess we have to wait and see.

It amazes me how many people think EVH owe them something.

Fucking amazing. Some of the best times of my life have been spent in the company of his music. He doesn't OWE you guys a new album. If we get one, great....if not, thanks for the fantastic legacy and all the great music and all the good times.

So many VH songs take me back to so many good memories.....he doesn't owe me a fucking thing.

Yeah, I'm with you, Kenny. But he did get our hopes up announcing a tour with DLR. So he does kinda owe us that.

i'm ready for dave and the band to bury the hatchet.they broke up at their peak in 1985 with dave and if they made some jammin' stuff similar to 1984 i think the fans would love it.they could even call the new disc 2008 if they got back together.1984 will be hard to top but they could try.

Haha....do you honestly think they will make a new album or even tour?

I bet the newly sober Ed will find some way to sabotage this.

I dug the Seventh Seal and Humans Being style but honestly I would love to see the VH of old.The party hardy band with all the timeless classics.

I said this back in January,I think Ed is using Dave for publicity to sell guitars and amps. Not that there won't be a tour but who knows. Its odd that www.evhgear.com is updated frequently but www.van-halen.com is basically just a web page right now. I never thought I would say this but Dave actually has a better website than Van Halen. If Eddie didn't have this new gear coming out I seriously think he wouldn't be working with Dave.

Not everybody is a pessimist. Think positive. I am still hoping that the tour will happen. It would make a lot of people happy.
