OT: Eagles Prepping New Studio Album, Tour

Postby Skylorde » Sun Aug 05, 2007 1:01 pm

The Eagles are planning to take flight with a long-awaited new album and a tour. Guitarist Joe Walsh tells Billboard.com that the album -- the Eagles' first full-length studio set since "The Long Run" in 1979 -- is "almost out. We're just finishing vocals and mixing it. We're all finally signing off on it."

Too bad it'll never happen for Journey w/ Perry.

These fuckers despise each other to the point I question the quality of the song writing. Guess we'll find out

They're too old and too rich to hate one another anymore.

I'm sure the record will be great. Henley is still writing fantastic, relevant music (whenever he actually decides to put something out).

That was some big case Larry, Felder wasn't happy with his cut if I remember rightly. This will be the most eagerly awaited album for some time and fortunately Felder's absence hasn't hurt them.
The difference between the Eagles and Journey is simple they cover a multitude of different types of fans from Rock to Country, culminating in guaranteed high grossing tours and album sales...they are I guess an American institution and a great one at that.

Cool news :D

Look forward to the new album.

Fabulous band who also perform at the highest level live with or without Don Felder.

'Timeless brilliance' is a great way to describe their work.

When's the album out? I'm all excited now. :D

Great news! I'd love to hear new music by them, and to see them on tour again. I caught their last tour and they really were amazing.

Agreed! I've never met anyone who does not like the Eagles - and I've never met anyone who can't name at least one song! I saw them in person in 1977. Stunning.

The Eagles aren't as talented as other bands...all credit must go directly to and to no one else other than their stellar manger, Mr. Irving Azoff.

That's ridiculous. Everyone is a great singer and player. And who writes better songs?

AMEN to that, NIG! They are an American Institution. They are the only band I've ever come across who has had every member of their band sing lead vocals on enormous hits! These guys are so freakin' talented, it's absurd!!!!!! Henley is one of the only musicians who I've ever heard who sounds exactly the same live as he does on studio recordings. The guy still sounds awesome, after all these years!

John from Boston

I bought their "Farewell 1 Tour " DVD. The vocals are still amazing 35 years laters.

They use several additional musicians including a horn section. Henley plays the drums on a few songs, but leaves most of the work to a younger guy. This frees him up to be out front an focus on vocals for his songs.

The guy who plays Felder's solo parts is really good.

Overall, a really good DVD. I can't wait to hear the new album.

Really? I had no idea,Lar.You sure it wasn't "free booze for everyone"?LOL..

I saw them 2 years ago while I was in CA,and Walsh was totally wasted. However he said so many hilarious things between the songs that no one cared how much he had to drink.
He was a show himself.Played perfectly,too.

Dixie Chicks are amazing. All you red faced fuckers can go fuck the Constitution. They expressed their displeasure, big deal? Turns out they were right after all.

They're stupid to align themselves with The Dixie Chicks regardless. The shows will probably do well, but they would rake in a good deal more dough if they dumped the Chicks for someone else.

Because of what they said against Bush? Have you not noticed, 70% of the USA despises Bush and the Eagles are about as Blue as any band alive..a Perfect Combo. Probably biggest tour of the year.
