You had to resurrect this thread to say THAT? At least I don't have 3000 posts of things like "eat a bag of dicks". You rarely post anything constructive.

Yes.

Better than having a history of posts that go something along the lines of "Whaa Whaaa I'm a gay bitch! I miss Augeri! Whaa Whaaa."

You rarely post anything constructive.

What does "A Fire Inside" mean anyways.
It wouldn't happen to refer to that burning sensation inside your urethra, by any chance?
Go take a Woserman test, u skanky, skanky whore.

The other day I was listening to the interviews on the Generations album. JC mentioned the "legacy of JOURNEY". I hadn't noticed his comments before because when I first listened to it upon release I was overwhelmed by how phony they all sounded. They sound even more so now.

I need to listen again to get a better understanding of what he meant by "legacy". His comments seemed so contrived - they conflicted with what everyone else was saying.

Out of respect for Jeremey and the possibility he could be the next singer I won't bash. I'll guess "Motion." Besides, isn't it about time to move on and stop the bashing? These guys have to be laughing that people are still wasting energy conjuring up new ways to try and bash them. These guys are teflon, plain and simple. There will be NO backlash once they're on the road again. They'll move forward relatively unscathed.

I agree, its amazing how people can hear or read something WoF, and it isn't until something happens that you realise the meaning that you thought something had now has a totally different connotation, hind sight is a wonderful thing, it's a shame foresight isn't as effective. :-)
When I've been researching literature and history in the past I've read, and re-read material and realisd a whole different conclusion can be arrived at. :D

Yup. I'm not saying I like it - I'm saying that it falls in line with all of the legacy talk.

E5C4P3 is arguably THE JOURNEY album. It's perhaps THE reason for their having any legacy at all. Considering this they really need to model their next effort after E5C4P3. They need to look at that album and consider all of its elements.

For example, Arrival. The connotation of the title is: WE'RE HERE - IT'S NOW - IT'S TIME TO ROCK. Higher Place does a great job echoing that sentiment and it really sets the tone. How much of a let down is it then to get all charged up only to have the rug pulled out by all of the sappy wedding songs that dominate the album?

Why was Open Arms such a hit? Many reasons. One in particular is that it was the ONLY love song on the album! It was also sequenced at the END of the album - as Ross has stated, "After all of the feathers have settled from Escape, Mother, Father, etc." Perfect timing. I don't know that sequencing is as important as it once was considering people can program CD's & iPod's to play any order desired however the fact remains that the song had more impact as it was the ONLY love song. Can you imagine if Faithfully and IBAWY were on E5C4P3...? Too much love will kill you! Unless you're Air Supply and then it's expected!

JOURNEY has the rep of being a ballad band. That's NOT their legacy. Their legacy is smart packaging, choice of songs, and song sequencing.

They need to do E5C4P3 II but bring it into this century.

GENERATIONS is boring. It's a boring title. It says, "We're OLD." We've got generations of fans. Every Generation is a fine song (except for the vocals) but it's not strong enough to build an album around. It's a novelty song at best. Nice homage to the fans. I thought they should've named the album GENERATE with rock songs written around the connotations of that theme.

I think LEGACY says the same as GENERATIONS. Boring. It definitely echoes their current state and apparent direction, though.

Not sure if you're referring to my saying they need to do E5C4P3 II. I don't mean literally - in fact it would be rather silly - along the lines of Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell sequels.

I meant that it's their legacy album and if they're so concerned about their legacy then they need to consider the elements of that album.
