Banned is awfully harsh, lol... but I would say it's a 'loon' comment. As in a fan who's so enamored with a performer that he'll say silly things to back up or try and prove his reasons for why we should all feel like him/her. Not realizing he/she just made his/her point of view look even more silly with the comment.

"Kiss Me Softly" was so un-Journey-like on the album and yet it was so good. There's a few other tracks which stand out. "Loved by You" and the Hammong organ colorings on "Livin' to Do".

I like it when this band gets off the beaten track. "World Gone Wild" confirmed that Jack Blades' songwriting adds to the Journey sound. He had his hand in several rockers off the past two albums.

I like about 50% of the album and 60% of Generations, both improvements on Trial by Fire.

Hey Dan, would you agree with me that Journeytroll (Reardon), is the biggest dickhead in the world?

He's the biggest, two biggest and three biggest dickheads in the world. I just go with the main 3. Reardon, Joey Delight and Journey Troll.  But I realize that there are more.

You can agree to disagree with him but being banned for feeling this way is way out of line. This is a fan who looks forward, not backwards. Nothing wrong with this statement.

Now, I know it doesnt compare to any past Journey CD's but its not a bad disc. For some reason Higher Place never gets old to me, I really like that catchy tune. And while on the topic has Jeremey ever included any Augeri in his show? I know he didnt in Atl last saturday but just wondering. I would like to hear him throw Higher Place, All the Way, or Faith in the Heartland out sometime. I will say that I was disappointed in Generations and still cant understand why they had to let everyone sing lead. Valory and Schon definetly need to stick to background. It had its good moments but its not one I can let play straight thru when I'm traveling or something.

I think Arrival is wonderful. It was an upbeat, fun album compared to the melancholy sound of TBF (which was also good, in its own way). But I absolutely loved Arrival and it is the one Journey CD in constant "rotation" on my iPod.

I grew to like Steve Augeri quite a bit and look forward to his new music.

I agree wholeheartedly that "Kiss Me Softly" ranks right up there with all the Journey ballads. It's my favorite song on the album. The great thing about Arrival to me was that Neal and Steve really seemed to play off of each other. I've often said Neal plays his guitar like it's a lead singer and the way Steve will end a note as Neal soars off with it is amazing. It was the same with Perry and there are many of those moments on Arrival with Augeri.

Flame if you must, but this song is beautiful.

I love that cd. In fact, I like it even more today than I did when it was new. Back then I liked it but was disappointed because I think I hungered for the classic era sound, which, lets face it, just isnt possible. I think Arrival is one of Journey's best period, and if Perry had been singing on it, it might possibly have been THE best cd.

You rebel, you.

Dude, NOBODY cops to liking Augeri era music here as a general rule. It ain't cool to now.

Unfortunately I enjoyed the shows where Augeri fronted the band. Sounds like I should be ashamed of myself but he filled in nicely and kept Journey in the public eye. Sure, not quite the way Mr.Perry did, but still had the TV exposure, a little radio play, and still played to good crowds on the road. I guess I'm not cool, I just enjoy the music. I accepted a long time ago that Perry is not returning to this band so I had to change with the times. I really wish they would've released the Anniversary concert DVD from 2005 as they once planned while Augeri was still around. You guys may not admit it but you know most of you would buy it. You would buy it today if it released today. And thats OK, its not Augeri's fault that his voice couldnt hold up to a rugged tour schedule.

I've said it before...I came to Steve Augeri kicking and screaming but I love the way he sings. He isn't Perry and I don't want him to be.

I agree - very positive. I've been listening to "Signs of Life" a lot the last year for the same reason. As far as "Kiss Me Softly" - I love the sound of that song. Very sultry. Would've liked to hear Soto do it.

I loved Arrival - could have done without With Your Love and Lifetime of Dreams, though. We Will Meet Again is, for me, the best song of the Augeri years and ranks with some of the band's best. I love Livin' to Do, All the Things, and Signs of Life. Higher Place was good, and Live and Breathe was cool too.

C'mon, With Your Love is a great Wedding song!!! As I said, when my daughter gets married I hope she works that one in somewhere-at least if dad is paying the tab...in that case I better hear some Dont Stop Believin, Lights, Just the same way, Faithfully, and so on, and so on....

Well I suppose it's the fact that Shaggy(my partner) is a ROck Dj and his DJ Partner in Crime FBT was doing his turn at the decks for us, and Shaggy is a massive KISS fan :) , they even played some Rammstein -Du Hast for me...Yep it was great to see my aunts up dancing etc, and we are talking Old ladies here, but cool all the same..they know it's the music we like and they get on with and enjoy it :D It was a great night...now we just have the wedding to do :D

I've ALWAYS maintained that TBF is MUCH inferior to Arrival musically, but Augeri just doesn't have "it." Had Perry been the singer for Arrival it would have been HUGE. So I think we actually do kind of agree, Ed.

PS That picture you posted was hilarious...disgusting, but hilarious.

The bluesy Cain/Schon outro on Living To Do still astonishes me.
It was like having Rolie back in the band for that song which speaks to the underratedness of Cain's musicianship to me.

My favorite tune on that album. Got to see them do that at the Indianapolis show in 2001. Highlight of the evening.
