Arrival is a pretty good CD, whether you wanna give it Journey acclaim or not, its got some catchy tunes on it. Why does some on here seem like they hate Steve Augeri so much? I cant understand it. He only did what any other vocalist wouldve done if presented with a great opportunity but Ive noticed some on here treat him like hes the antichrist?

Marc, I agree with you. Higher Place is a wondeful song and it is one that could have been a Perry classic.

WE actually used several songs from this album during our wedding. We used with your love during the ceremony as the song before the vows, Lifetime of dreams is our song and we used kiss me softly in our songs we had played during the wedding

This album absolutely sounds like Bad English and SA even sounds like Jon Waite on a couple of the tracks! It's basically Bad English with RV and SA sitting in.

It sounds like Bad English only in the sense that it's perfectly competant but slightly soulless and generic AOR music. Oh...and Neal's guitar playing too - which is the only truly exceptional aspect of this record.

If JOURNEY is going to say that they're going to take me to a higher place and/or all the way then they better deliver!

I hold JOURNEY to higher standards than "just about every band out there". The fact that you and so many other fans are so apathetic about JOURNEY's art is why they bail in the studio and produce crap and retread themselves and other old material only to follow that up by another GH tour.

People went NUTS about the lip synching - that it was inexcusable and resulted in the band losing all credibility. I'm simply saying the exact same thing in regards to their studio work. Nobody's ever gotten over the lip synching and I'm not going to get over what I find is equally crap in their studio work.

I'm not the only one that hears BE. I'm not going to go into this note for note but I hear it and so do others. I'm not going to get into a polarized argument that claims ABSOLUTELY that it's one way or the other. That's ridiculous.

I'm simply saying that Arrival smacks of BE. If you don't hear it then that's fine, too. I'm not on a crusade to convince otherwise.

It's true that some Arrival songs could well have been performed by Bad English, but the result would have been totally different from the original 'Arrival sound'. Put John in front and get Neal and Jon all spiced up and you'd have a more reckless and different sound... too different to call them identical IMO.
