Well Deano. I may be "unrealistic" in YOUR opinion of me, but at least I am consistent in what I say on these message boards concerning my views & opinions. Unlike you, I don't talk out of both sides of my mouth.

Hey....why not? 8)

Don't HATE the guy....just asking for an "update"....that's all....

Get a fuckin clue...you dumb bitch... IT'S OVER....That means Perry AND Journey....

I must be a "dumb bitch" too then because I think the possibility of him doing something new is pretty high. The man seems to have straightened out a lot of things in his life and seems happy again. He's working with Nuno and that's a good sign. He WANTED to sing on AI til Cain and Schon fucked that up. The dude is far from retired. He has simply been smart enough to manage his money in a way that allows him to work when he wants to. And remember, up until only recently, the landscape of the music industry wasn't 80's friendly. That era, and its artists, are now as popular as any time in the last 2 decades, so some sort of comeback would make much more sense now. I sense a Fall update. I've been hot and cold with these in the past, but I like my chances with this one.

PS You're a real fuckin' tool for being ignorant to Nora. She's a cool cat. Fuck you.

does your gut feeling tell you Perry back with Journey or solo this fall????

Man...that's a hard question. ALL of this would make so much more sense if he was indeed rejoining Journey. And all of the theatrics makes me want to believe that it's all smoke and mirrors, but I've been let down so much in the past that I'll go with him being solo this time. And I don't think it will be this Fall, but rather next Spring. But I think an announcement this Fall isn't out of the question.

I know it's not rejoining Journey, and thank GOD. I do think there's something in the wind. Bottom line, fine, I'm a loon... I'll believe forever. He's WORTH THE WAIT.

I get your frustration, tragchk. I get it every time I hear about Journey's contemporaries making big reunion tours (Police, VH - (both bands, btw, swore they'd never get back together). Or when I hear new hits that sound like Journey's genre, thinking "the time is right..."
It just makes me really hungry for something from Perry.
And, of course it's his prerogative to not ever do anything again. But it's hard to not feel a little cheated out of years of music, or to hold out hope for more, no matter how futile it may seem - More of an addict’s frustration, than anger at him, lol. With all of the great music out there, and all of the great bands that are touring, there’s still no one I’d rather hear or see than him.

(And surely venting about things that you have absolutely no control over is what friends are for, lol. )

absofrigginlutely!!

Further, Perry doing something and Journey doing something are mutually exclusive (and have been for years).

Perry can do what he wants (or doesn't want) and Journey can do whatever they want (with or without Perry).

And there are many opinions on this board regarding both.

I wish he'd do a reunion tour with Neal Schon, Jonathon Cain, Ross Valory, and Steve Smith.

I wish for him to end each day with a smile

Maybe it's because I'm getting older; turning 40.... ACK... and getting tired of waiting for the "Superstar" Steve....

But being "hung out to dry" ~ with no word about ANYthing ~ is REALLY starting to piss me off! (and probably others, too...)

Good Lord...

If you're DONE....just give us some fucking courtesy...

I cant say if Mr.Perry is ready to start singing, but i can tell you this when i last spoke to Tommy Denander regarding working with him he said they intend to write together and Tommy is looking into this as we speak as he is in L.A. He went out with Steve and some friends to see a band play a while back,Steve was in great spirits and quite into the idea of getting up and singing with the band!!! Though this never happened its a good sign. The complete interview with Tommy will be in the upcoming issue of Fireworks, plus my chat with Kevin Chalfant regarding all things Journey will be in there so check it out. :)

I don't recall Perry EVER publicly saying he was retired, Last I heard he was WRITING songs with Nuno Bettencourt, a sang on the GUFF Cd, so I don't know about being retired.

Yeah but that's the point. Why does he have to say anything?
And HE wasn't the one who said jack shit about writing. Nuno said that.
And Steve never said shit about the Guff thing until after it was DONE.

If it's taken this long for everyone to figure out that he never says shit about shit, and some folks have yet to come close to figuring it out, then I can't be of any help. Maybe there's a reason why he's not loose-lipped about stuff like that?

I dare not speak for the man, but if pushed for a guess, I might say one possibility is that then he'd be in the position of saying something, and looking like an ass if he chooses to change his mind? (thus making people twice as angry?) My only thing is I don't understand why folks get so unbelievably fucking upset about it. Of course I'd love it if he did something... who wouldn't? Shit, release another awesome DVD and I'm happy... but if he chooses to hang around on his sofa watching reruns of "What's Happening" and eating Doritos all day, it's not gonna make me angry. I'd even supply the Doritos.

This is like, worse than the mystery of Al Capone's vault. "What's inside Perry? Another SONG? Another ALBUM? Make him open up and show us!" Yikes man. Maybe there really are just some Doritos in there and nothing more?

If he writes or sings again - wunderbar! If not, the world keeps turning.
It might not sound as good, but it keeps turning.
