New and wanting info

Postby Higgy » Mon Aug 13, 2007 2:23 am

Hi everyone,

I'm new and I was wondering if anyone could just kind of give me the latest Journey info. I saw them last year with JSS in Miami and thought the show was one of the best I'd seen. I know that they fired JSS. Has there been any word on a replacement. Is there any hope for a Steve Perry reunion. and does anyone know why JSS was fired (official OR rumored).

Thanks!

Welcome to the board! There hasn't been any new info on a new singer, only speculation, and to be honest, I would hold out much hope on a Steve Perry reunion. As for why they shit canned JSS, you guess is as good as mine.

Jeff was fired because he was never their long term guy. They had their eye on other singers before Augeri and the band were outed for using tapes, but Jeff was the only guy that could step in on such short notice. When the checks were cashed he got bounced. Used...completely used. I think Perry rejoining Journey is a good possibility. It would make sense of things.

SJ: You don't believe Perry when he says he wouldn't even have lunch with them, at this point? That sounded absolutely final to me.

S.J:
Yeah, but Cain hadn't "made the call" yet, no "who needs Perry" interviews had taken place yet, no lipping had happened yet, no shit-canning of a third singer had happened yet, no dumbing down of the legacy had taken place yet.
Things have changed....big time. I don't think he wants to be associated with what those guys have become now.

Steve Perry is returning to Journey. There will be a press conference in a few weeks. They are trying to keep a lid on things because they won't be ready to tour until next summer.

Same shit was said before the 96 reunion.

SJ, Perry is proud as hell of what he and Journey accomplished together, but I don't believe for a second anymore that he would rejoin Journey again. JMHO.

True True, Deb & Laura. Ain't happening, no way no how. Which is SAD as all get out, but I get it. Stone cracked, etc etc etc. Like I said before, there's more to Perry than Journey.

Thanks for the info. Kind of a shame to leave fans in the lurch like this. I was pretty surprised to see them fire JSS. I thought he was great, the crowd loved him, and it really felt like a Journey show (something that doesn't happen with the current Styx, Ratt, etc.)

My point was Ratt was and is SHIT. Please don't even mention that Pureed shit band with Journey. As big of an asshole as Journey is, yes, I called the entire organization an asshole, they are extremely talented. I will never bash Friga and Neal's talents, but their character is that of OJ Simpson and Kenneth Lay.

Ratt was and is nothing more than a shit on the lawn. Fergus takes dumps in front of our place with more talent than Ratt.

You could put all hair bands in the two bit cocksucking shit band category. Any guy that runs around on stage wearing makeup and spandex can't be all that talented. Stephen Pearcy and Dee Snider are perfect examples.

Motley Crue. How can you not like a band that lived the way they did and parlayed being rock stars into getting some of the world's finest ass? I love those guys.

Here's the newest song from Nikki off of The Heroin Diaries. Great tune.

Hey you fucker! How you doing?

First off I consider Kiss more arena rock, than hair band, so I wasn't referring to them.

Kip Winger actually has a lot of talent believe it or not. Dokken had George Lynch who is an amazing player. Just saying that certian hair bands had talented musicians. Mr. Big was a super talented band as well.

Midget Schon even played in that lame hair band Hardline.

Kip Winger brought the house down when he played at Jim Peterik's World Stage show. The dude has some serious power in his voice. His solo stuff is really good. It's very unlike the Winger material which was garbage that their record label made them do. Kip Winger was marketed wrong and will forever pay for it. See him solo if you get the chance. He's excellent.

Kip Wingers only problem is that he needed to change that candy ass name.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Ratt
Stryper

My nephew was backstage at the Poison/Ratt show last Sat. night. He was surprised that there were so many younger people there. They actually outnumbered the older ones.
