Oh well.

Awww, I miss Hutchence. Found an old INXS boot (they definately had some great tunes) and since I never got the chance to see them LIVE, it's great! :)

I saw them in 1982 and 1983 - Excellent!! He was great :) :(

Agreed.
I had the pleasure of checking them on the Elegantly Wasted tour 2 months almost to the day before Hutchence checked out it was unreal. Phenomenal.

who knew what was brewing under the surface?

No doubt.

Let me know if you want a copy, I can throw it up on 'yousendit' later.

Please.
No.

That last RockStar band was a bunch of flakes and they absolutely without a doubt SUCKED.
INXS did well. Tommy Lee's deal was an embarrassment. Tommy Lee is an embarrassment.
ugh...

I can just see Neal and John on that show. THAT would make a complete mockery of Journey...
then again, it's already become a circus...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I do know that producers of the Rock Star show wanted Journey for Season 2. Obviously it never happened. Season 2 bombed and the show is off-air.

Journey in the drivers seat could put it back on air. They'd have to change the modern rock slant of the show, but I'd be open to this as an option.

For the record - this thread is 100% pure speculation! There are no plans for this a this in reality at this point in time and I don't expect there to be so.

Dude, you're not buying this Arnel shit are you? He will NEVER sing for Journey...period. This is 100% bullshit. Rock Star Journey would be cool...only if Perry consented. And I have a funny feeling we'll be hearing from him soon.[/quote]

Saint John...hi - i enjoy your posts and agree with most of them - but i have to ask, i have noticed you mention an imminent event from Perry a few times....do you just have a gut feeling or are you "in" on something? Personally i would love to see the guy surface, i'm sure he could make a great album with that deeper voice......

Other things you must believe in also:

Yeah...Journey has been so honest in the past. Dude, I'm not buying the leaked information bullshit. Is Arnel good? Yes...damn good. But I find it hard to believe that they fired Jeff and decided against Jeremey because they just knew that "Youtube Journey" was gonna work. Something is up. We'll know around December I'm sure. I still say this dude never sings for Journey...as good as he is. I'm a fan. I'd go see his covers show any day. The man is immensely talented.

This guy is not just mimicking, he def. has outright musical talent. His versatility shows he has serious range.

He comes across as "sweet" too which is kind of what was appealing about Journey for so many years to many of us, not saying everyone. but....
I concur with you, its gotta be a smoke screen. I do not believe that Perry is not going to do something, I just do not believe it. He's going to give his fans some kind of swan song.

Hey iLex,

Ty Taylor was one of the leads in the Vegas production of WWRY - a hugely talented rock singer, but he had a realattitude problem towards the end of the 'RockStar' run - he was very emotional about the way in which black talent is 'ignored'. However, despite his talent and his real enthusiasm, he would never have been right for 'INXS'.

Ty had a few stints with Camp Freddy via Dave Navarro that I caught. He forgot lyrics, missed notes, and wasn't that well prepared, unfortunately. He's seemingly come and gone now. I still think "Sweet Suzie" McNeil would have been the best choice overall, and I still cannot stand the bozo they picked. JMHO, he was an Elvis impersonator and it sounded that way constantly. Ah well.
