Sounds like a good song. I think he sounds more like Steve Augeri though.

This is the first I have heard Hugo's solo stuff. There seemed to be plenty borrowed from Journey tunes, but I was pleasantly surprised.

He does a great Perry, but I also hear some Augeri and even Chalfant. If he would lose the Perry haircut and mannerisms, he should be at least considered...that is...in my humble 2nd MR post opinion.

The quotes from reviews on his albums listed on the website sound like they may have the potential to tick of Neal though..."record
Journey should have released".

If they hire Arnell, and he grows his hair out and starts doing the SP shuffle on stage, I'm going to puke.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

This should be cool collaboration.
Looking at their individual discographies, people have very big expectations...

I'm happy that Josh Ramos ditched that heavy metal guy on vocals (http://www.donchaffin.com) with whom he started doing this album before Hugo came in picture...

Funny how this revamped site suddenly comes back on line in the midst of the Arnel situation..with the 'I look like Perry' Picture. They know that, he knows that......is this a last minute pitch by Hugo to stop the hiring of Arnel or is Hugo still in there with a chance?

Interesting site!

I don't think Hugo is still considering Journey might hire him for The Job.
Like with Kevin Chalfant, they had so many opporturnities to hire him, but they always skipped them and went in other directions.
And beside that, he's been so much bashed over different Journey forums by people who prefer other options (Perry, JSS, Augeri, Jeremey, Arnel...) that he would provoke this on much more larger scale...

I see his website as move in establishing his OWN career, and that's what I've been waiting for him for a long time to do.
Hugo's first solo album was many times reviewed with praise over Journey's Trial By Fire, released at that time...

Hugo CAN, and Hugo WOULD show that he's much more than Steve Perry-wannabe, and that would be without Schon, Cain and co... Josh Ramos would help him on that way.

Understand something, Hugo does not need Journey...Journey needs Hugo...and the only thing that's funny is all the sour grapes coming from the Jeremey fans...

They would be horrible for each other. Journey would get mocked for hiring an impersonator and Hugo would not be taken seriously as a musician. He should stick to his solo stuff and ditch Evolution and the Perry look.

Good songs. Seems like a weak voice though. It's almost like a forced falsetto. Like a baritone trying to force his voice up an octave or two. Like me singing in the shower. Not bad though. He's a little over the top with the Steve Perry, circa 1981 "twin" thing. I realize he's in a Journey tribute band but, man, that's a bit much. I'll bet that look gets him a lot of attention when he goes out in public. I can see 40-something adults who haven't followed the band in 25 years coming up to him, thinking he's Perry, and asking for his autograph. I'll bet he gets that everyday.

The question is...who's name does he sign? His or Perry's?

I wonder how many times he's been approached for an autograph or picture.
