nearing the age of 70 perry finally decides to front journey one more time.he has a special teleprompter so he can read the lyrics due to his alzeimers and two times a night a roadie brings a wheelchair out so he can sit and sing a few medleys off the aborted 2010 album 'revenue' when his hip acted up again right before a tour.another six years would pass before the journey would start again with perry.

he starts off with patiently from infinity some forty years ago.his fans have certainly been patient after all.he started a solo project in 2012 that he released straight to the net entitled 'don't blame me'.it was well received although the critics thought otherwise.the second song gets bungled when perry starts singing the lyrics to 'don't stop believen' while jon cain is playing faithfully on the keys.they laugh it off and begin playing 'be good to yourself'.intermission

after the intermission is over schon begins a guitar solo that was one of his best in the last thirty five years.ross valory is now sporting a bald look similar to steve smith who is now back on baord with the group.gregg rollie comes out for a short stint on feeling that way/anytime while jon cain shoots daggers of hateful glances his way.they wanted to tour again with rollie but he elected not to giving cain the job by default.

they do 'precious time' and they mean it.next they do 'too late' before they do 'escape' and 'seperate ways' then perry says to the crowd they are about to slow it down and is heard muttering in a low voice that he needs his meds now.perry then goes to the amps and takes his drugs and i don't mean the street ones.he says to the crowd now i know what your thinking but it ain't 1980 anymore.

he then slams into 'any way you want it' and they then 'play the partys over' and it is.there will be no encore tonight because there is a curfew in effect.seems that jon was scolded that if he didn't get back before midnight the nursing home where he was staying would shut the doors.

a list of the tour rider got out and this was some of the things requested by the band.........

20 bars of ivory soap
1 crock pot for soup with ladle
2 tea kettles with spring water
4 kit kat bars
15 white bath towels
4 gallons of cold milk
5 vegetables preferably fresh (at fairs, corn on the cob,if available)
6 fresh bowls of unpeeled fruit
12 small bottles of drinking water (not mineral or carbonated)
5 orders of zesty ore-ida french fries
2 hamburgers
a pack of camel cigarettes
a carton marlboro ultra lights
1 double burner hot plate
a pound of nova scotia salmon
a six pack of iced yoohoo
five bottles of good chardonnay (yellow tail brand prefered)
a 24 hour pharmacy open nearby

in that order please

1. Journey - Neal shrinks, Ross' cheeks are down around his knees, Jon is still talking about "Don't Stop Believin", Arnel blows his voice out and instead of replacing him, Journey tours with tapes of Perry vocals and no lead singer, Deen still calls SA "brother", but hasn't seen him in over ten years.

2. Jeff Scott Soto will be in the hall of fame.

3. Styx will still be debating Gowan vs. DeYoung.

4. Perry will be in a monogamous relationship but no longer able to do what you do in monogamous relationships. Hip xrays surface on the internet showing no evidence of hip deterioration, let alone replacement. He last did back up for the Olson Twins and plays Herbie Herbert in the Broadway play "Journey Boys". Adam Augeri is the lead.

5. Melodicrock.com celebrates its 20th anniversary with a concert in San Francisco and I'm a VIP.

6. Deano has two more sets of twins and buys stock in disposable diapers.

When I read Styxman's post, I don't see anything referencing an intention to make this a 'funny' thread. A few people ran in that direction. I didn't.

5. Drew and his MR site - still going on strong

I looking for a constructive debate with plenty of fun. I've my own ideas, it's Soto I'm stuck on, just need a couple of days to figure that one out.

I've with Monker on the Styx one, Shaw/Blades for sure will still be about but there again it all depends on Tommy's voice as he's constantly having to nurse it.

It's all fun, thanks for the posts

PS. You've got to think bigger for MR as it's always evolving. What do you all think about specific MR venues, the MR branding like MacDonalds. A venue in most cities promoting up and coming Rock bands..that's where I see MR's role in the future 8)

1. Journey- Became just another formally successful rock band to fade into obscurity because of bad decision making by a few of it's members

2. Soto- Became a multi-platnum selling artist and has won numerous awards

3. Styx- Touring the country with AARP and Depends as their primary sponsors

4. Perry- Still keeping a low profile and making an ocassional appearance in the studio to sing backup for other artists

5. Drew and his MR site- Still going strong and is the first choice for accurate information about anything in the music world

6. Deeno- Left Journey after Arnel crashed and burned and is now in high demand throughout the music business

It's Soto I'm stuck on too :D

1. Journey
2. Soto
3. Styx
4. Perry
5. Drew and his MR site
6. Deano

1. Journey - Journey who?
2. Soto - Jeff Scott Soto Band selling out the Hollywood Bowl - which will be his favorite venue to play (as it is my fav - parking sux though, I have lifetime front row seats!), wins his 10th Grammy award or was it 12?
3. Styx - Still rocking with Gowan but in much bigger venues than HOB, DDY successfully selling out venues doing his thing
4. Perry - still elusive after all these years, dangit
5. Drew and his MR site - biggest message board on the web, Drew is fabulously wealthy and has people monitoring the board for him, but he still does it at times because he just loves it!!
6. Deano - busy coaching his boys' hockey team leading them into the national championship

:D Thanks!

Unfortunately I am not sports savvy enough to know names! I used to be neighbors with Steve Sax and Mike Marshall - I knew their names - that's where my knowlege ends!! Do you remember them or is baseball not your thing?! That was a long time ago! Went to a Dodger game a couple weeks ago, did not know 1 name - how sad. Actually Fernando Valenzuela was there - him I know(I mean his name)!!
