I find most of the songs in this thread aren't obscure at all. I still hear them on the radio, lol!

Here's an obscure one that was a semi-hit from a group named SARAYA:

Here's a great one. I never understood why this wasn't included on their albums. It was used for a soundtrack and can only be found in the box set they recently released.

This is a great thread... If I wasn't so brain-fried from school, I would add a lot of songs to the list. As it stands now, the only one I can think of is Burning Flame by Vitamin Z.

I still have those in my collection... Helix, Triumph, April Wine(the single for Roller). I saw Aldo Nova and Triumph together when they opened for Journey. I still love the Triumph album!

I can't stand that song! First time I ever heard it, the opening notes came on as I was passing the scene of a multi-fatality accident during spring break on an island road (drunk in a car crossed the line and hit a little truck with kids in it that were good kids). Two lane road with no shoulder, so we were about 10 feet from the two cars. ::::::shiver::::: To this day I change the station when that one comes on.

As far as the other songs, I'm amazed that I know most of them. heh...

Not exactly obscure (not in Canada, anyway) - one of my favorite bands and one of my favorite people.

The Walls Came Down - The Call
Everywhere I Go - The Call
Der Kommissar - After the Fire

I was into such a wide range of music in the 80's - hard rock, hair metal, new wave/alternative, pop rock.....these definitely fall under the 80's alternative genre. Probably not obscure, you just haven't heard them in awhile. That's the case for those that have been listed so far (I have the majority on my iPod playlist  ) They definitely take you back to that time period - the clothes, attitude, memories.
