Nirvana took a GREAT GUITAR RIFF - Boston's "More Than A Feeling" - put it in a minor key, and VOILA: "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

I kid you not.  :x

But, but that couldn't be true...their main influences were 70's Punk. Really.

Actually you're right...the first time I heard that opening riff..I asked my brother "Who fucked up More Than A Feeling?" Fuckin' unoriginal douchebags.

The Blame Game.

I'm as much a fan of melodic rock as the next but being a fan of Journey was often seen as being a wuss (for guys anyway). Especially during the 90's. Being into Grunge was seen as more manly. I guess that might apply to rap today.

There's very little rap I can stand. There's some grunge I like.

Is it really Nirvana that's to blame? The Pixies were doing this stuff in '89 on album called Dolittle. I'd say Pearl Jam had as much effect as Nirvana but in reality, most the 80's band were getting stagnant with the MR music. Journey was AWOL.

I guess what I'm saying is there's a little bit that can be appreciated in any type of art.

I went through my alternative rock phase in the early '90's... Matthew Sweet, Aimee Mann, Juliana Hatfield, Lemonheads... never stopped listening to melodic and hard rock, tho.

Like I said, the 80s did it to themselves...

I blame kurt for what he did to guitar...

and trust me, if Nirvana wasn't around, Pearl Jam, the Pixies and all the other grunge, altershit crap bands would still be stuck in Seattle (or where ever the disgraceful scumbag ridden place the pixies came from)....Nirvana opened the door to these assholes....

Man, I wish I could go back in time....one carefully placed shot could take out Kurt and Courtney at the same time...before any of this had to happen!
