Huge JSS fan are you? What do you know about his back catalogue? Love his work on the Rockstar Sdtk?
Bought both releases of World Play did you?

The Wiggle didnt do anything for me either, but it didnt bother me, the guiy could sing till 2005 some good nights, some bad At least he was out there enteraining Journey fans. Perry didnt want to sing for Journey but didnt mind collecting the checks as if he was still singing for the band.
You get paid for this???awesomeMatthew wrote:stevew2 wrote:Matthew wrote:stevew2 wrote:I just woke up and saw this shit

It's about five in the afternoon...and I'm at work...with only half an hour left to try and justify receiving a pay check today....

great post.

As you stated, Neal/Cain asked Steve A. to be a part of the walk of fame. THEY did not even invite Steve, he showed up on his own!
Steve P. is what makes the Journey a legacy. I think Cain is finally starting to see that now.
remember, the others bailed and they became three once again, Perry, Schon and Cain. They then brought on Randy Jackson and they were 4. They continued on with Journey. Now they are nothing without the other.
Middle aged men trying to rake in the cash. If they have any integrity left and they want to rake in on the cash they would go and get the two Steve's back and tour. I wish I could be there when both Steve's tell them thanks, but no thanks.
Steve P. is NO longer committed to any contracts. He could not go out and sing ANY Journey songs under contract even if he wanted to. Now, he can go and sing all of them he wants to. He said he is not going to ruin the songs nor the legacy.
Perry hasn't been commited to any contracts since 1998. And how did you come up with this explanation of why Perry didn't sing? Do you know him? How about this, Perry doesn't sing (exept for a BG here and there) because maybe he just doesn't want to sing period? Perry could sing any Journey any damn time he wants to, under contract or not. Perry chooses not to sing.
Taking Journey into another direction means that Neal/Jon would actually have to WORK!

My info comes from an interview from former and longtime manager Herbie Herbert. It was actually posted on here but I cant find it but Im sure someone else on this board has seen it. Basically he said Randy Jackson was a "side musician" and never was a full fledged member of Journey, although he liked to think he was. Here is the link about SP being invited to the WOF from Neal Schon: http://www.melodicrock.com/interviews/j ... schon.html
In case you dont wanna pull it read this: You did the Walk Of Fame a little while back and I talked to Jonathan about that, so I won't go over it too much with you. But there was one quote you gave someone in the UK I must ask you about.
You said the door is always open for Steve Perry to rejoin the band.
No, I said what I've been saying and I'm just trying to clear the air from all this happy horseshit that has been on the internet about me and why Steve Perry is not in the band and it's all Neal Schon's fault.
I'm mean, there has always been an open door – I invited him in front of TV, I invited him on the radio to be there, I said you need to be there and I'm really glad he showed up.And I'd be glad if he turned up tonight and wanted to sit in on two songs. Or whatever…you know what I mean?
Theres my evidence!

It is my understanding that when they parted ways that he could not do or be anything Journey. That DOES include singing Journey material right? And you are right, he chose NOT to sing HIS own songs.Taking Journey into another direction means that Neal/Jon would actually have to WORK!
Actually they were going in a different direction and sound with JSS, but they bailed again.

He could've told them his bulk cat food bills were getting out hand and to go out, let him continue his mafia like no-show job so that the greenbacks kept rolling in.

I believe this, even though I love his solo efforts. I can't believe that it's never going to happen just once more for all of us to finally reunite for a common love of the Journey that made most of the world their fans.
And I have not even started on my bottle of white wine yet.
Start it immediately.
Geez.
It's over.
Not until the fat lady sings, lol.'m not fat, so no wisecracks.
Listen to the words to "Still She Cries." Apply the principle to Journey. I could forgive Cain a lot for the keyboards on this.

I have to say that "Still She Cries" is the ONLY song where I wanted the vocals to end so I could hear the keyboards. I'd love to hear that on keyboard without any vocals. That is an amazing piece of music at the end, especially.
Friga may be a twit, but he nails that song!

Thank you for replying. After reading a few things I have come to the conclusion that Steve is the one who is being stubborn.
All in all though, I am glad he did show up.
